My Heart Didn't Skip a Beat

At first, a little drama queen and a pretentious tough guy couldn't stand each other

Zhou Kaizhe's first impression of Xia Pengpeng wasn't great. He was fussy, loud, playful, and wore a face full of makeup that was painful to look at. Tsk, he was not only annoying to the ears, but to the eyes as well.

Xia Pengpeng felt no affection for Zhou Kaizhe either. This academic fraud had stolen his teacher's research. He was hypocritical, a scoundrel, sharp-tongued, and so affected in everything he did. He was the very definition of a strong guy.

Then came their first night at the hotel

Watching Xia Pengpeng emerge from the bathroom, free of all that makeup, Zhou Kaizhe raised an eyebrow. He looked clean, fresh, handsome, and sunny, with a head of little curls. Wow.

Xia Pengpeng looked at the mature, sexy man on the bed and couldn't help swallowing.

Zhou Kaizhe smiled and reached out to him. "Come here."

Xia Pengpeng happily wagged his tail and pounced on him.

And then

The two of them got into a full-blown fight on the bed.

Zhou Kaizhe struggled to pin Xia Pengpeng down, smiling without warmth. "Aren't you supposed to be the bottom, little drama queen?"

Xia Pengpeng turned the tables, refusing to back down. "You're the bottom, strong guy!"

The bed quickly grew lively. After all, on a dark and stormy night, when people are up to no good

"You old pervert!"

"You little hooligan!"

The next day, they both clutched their backs and cursed at the same time.

A happy-go-lucky pup who enjoys life (Xia Pengpeng) × a master at teasing dogs who says one thing but means another (Zhou Kaizhe)

P.S.

1. They switch. Neither lead is perfect: one is idle, the other avoids responsibility, and both have someone they still hold dear. They start out as fuck buddies.

2. The leads are nearly ten years apart in age.

3. There are countless novels in the world. If this one isn't for you, I'll find another. Let's part on good terms.
