Summer, age eighteen, after the college entrance exams.

It should have been the most carefree summer of He Changxia's life, but the first thing she learned after the exams was that her parents were getting divorced.

He Changxia stood beneath the window outside, counting the ants at her feet as she anxiously awaited the arrival of her fate.

Her aunt, who had moved away to study, bought her a plane ticket so she could get some fresh air in a city a thousand miles away.

Her aunt explained that someone at the destination would provide her with a place to stay, but the homeowner had an odd personality, didn't talk much, and didn't like socializing. Whether to go or not was entirely up to her.

With her backpack on, He Changxia set off for a strange city, as resolute as her mother.

Chen Xunyan isn't living very well, but she can't bring herself to die, either.

She lives alone in her little room and has almost no friends, except for He Qingxi.

One day in early June, He Qingxi suddenly asked her to take in an incoming college freshman for a while.

Chen Xunyan thought it would just be a landlord-and-tenant arrangement, but she never expected this young woman to be not only cheerful and talkative, but seemingly born with the ability to love.

Many years later, she still remembers that June clearly:

Reader's Note:

1. The novel is divided into three volumes, corresponding to falling in love over a short stay, a long-distance relationship, and reuniting after a long separation. Feel free to skip to the part you like. The overall pace is gentle and slow, so if that's not your style, please think carefully before diving in.

2. Updates daily at 9 a.m., with extra chapters from time to time.

3. There's not much of a career storyline, and no secondary couple.
