New Year's Eve.

Jiang Lai kissed her boyfriend goodbye beneath their apartment building, then went upstairs and ran into Qi Xu, whom she hadn't seen in four years.

Dressed all in black, he stood tall and straight. He walked toward her and wiped her forehead.

He was smiling, but his voice was unusually cold. "Good evening, little sister."

Jiang Lai wanted to run.

"What are you hiding from?" Qi Xu cornered her in the narrow space. "Am I not allowed to touch you?"

"Sorry, my boyfriend would mind."

"Then break up with him."

-

Everyone knew Qi Xu had gained a clingy, spoiled little sister.

Until someone saw him pin Jiang Lai against a tree on a school path, demanding that she delete a guy's contact information.

So much for a close and loving brother-sister relationship.

On the night she planned to leave, Jiang Lai deliberately let their relationship become public.

Qi Xu said her name indistinctly, his hands signing a plea.

"Don't leave me, okay?"

She's a little girl who loves to lie. I want to watch her act, playing the role of someone who loves me.
