Sikong Xun x Jiang Yancheng
Sikong Xun was the eldest son of the main branch of the Sikong clan, a renowned scholarly family in the Great Liang dynasty. Sickly since childhood, he was weak, often ill, and unable to walk properly. Taciturn and withdrawn, he spent most of his time at home, keeping company with the family's ancient books.
Then one day, he accidentally fell into the water. When he woke, he heard a stranger's voice in his mind. The voice told him that the whole world was merely a backdrop created by the "Heavenly Dao" for the epic romance between the male and female leads. It then recounted the story of the protagonist, a young man from a noble family who had been raised as a girl after disguising himself as one from childhood to avoid the family's internal power struggles. When he grew up, he tried to escape an imperial marriage arrangement and became entangled with the male lead, a prince. It was a ridiculous, melodramatic love story in which he loved her, but she was actually a he, and he didn't know she was a he; he chased, he fled, and he couldn't get away.
The male lead was Jiang Yancheng, the fifth prince of the present day. The protagonist was his younger brother, Sikong Zheng. And Sikong Xun was the cannon-fodder extra who willingly married in his brother's place and would die of illness in the prince's residence six months later.
What's more, he'd already completed the wedding rites with Jiang Yancheng and was now sitting in the bridal chamber, waiting for the male lead to lift his veil.
