The Blade Beneath Heaven

A hot-tempered, stubborn gong who goes openly crazy by day x a silent, stubborn shou who goes secretly crazy by night

The day Li Yaosong was crowned king, he spent a fortune buying himself a consort as a “reward.”

Everyone laughed that King Li was a dimwitted, spendthrift soldier. Little did they know that his consort was his old nemesis from the battlefield, who had once given him no end of trouble with gunpowder.

Li Yaosong hated him so much his teeth ached. But when they met again, the man had fallen into the pleasure quarters, playing the pipa for other people’s amusement.

Watching the young man in white onstage, eyes lowered and suffering humiliation, Li Yaosong swept out a hand and pointed at Chu Siheng. “Ten thousand taels of gold. This flower queen belongs to me!”

Chu Siheng, who had been deciding whom to kill first in a moment: “?”

Wait, did getting blown up fry his brain?

Strange cases have been happening one after another in the capital. First, a third-rank official was found dead in the street in the middle of the night. Then a second-rank official drowned in a lotus pond in the imperial palace. Panic swept through the court, and after the morning audience, officials of every rank hurried home to hide under their blankets.

Only King Li remained at ease, seeking out all kinds of treasures in the streets to bring home and cheer up the consort he had bought for ten thousand taels of gold.

When his consort was pleased, he would generously draw his sword and ask, “Who do you want to kill tonight?”

Li Yaosong smiled. “Can we kill the emperor?”

His consort readily nodded. “Of course.”

“A sword beneath the moon breaks the endless night; Chongli leaves its sheath, and daylight dawns.”

· One-on-one, both virgins, happy ending

· An alternate world, not serious political intrigue; the focus is on the protagonists having a great time

· At heart, this is a story about a couple holding hands and fighting their way through the world. Not suitable for readers with extreme character preferences. Let’s all give each other some grace and live happily together. (Bows in thanks.)
