A Little Monster With A Wife Is Amazing

[My next story, “Can a Little Evil Dragon Have a Pretty Bride Too?”, is open for follows (〃^▽^〃)]

Jian Tang is a little monster in a world of horrors. His greatest dream in life is to raise an adorable human wife.

He’s heard that an adorable human wife is the world’s greatest treasure. Have one, and you’ll be happy for life!

The weak little monster isn’t capable of entering instances to earn gold coins, so he can only work as a lowly waste sorter.

Every day, Jian Tang works himself to the bone for a pitiful pittance.

After working hard for 999 years, Jian Tang finally saved enough money to buy a human wife from a shady broker. The deal even included a cozy little apartment to raise her in.

Hooray! Now I’m a little monster with an adorable wife, too!

But the adorable human wife he’d imagined never showed up. Instead, a tall, imposing man with a cold, fierce gaze was living in the apartment.

Jian Tang burst into tears. That shady broker cheated me! I want a refund! QAQ

With no way to return him, Jian Tang accepted his fate through tears and began nervously raising the counterfeit “adorable wife.”

After looking after him for a while, Jian Tang realized that although this wife wasn’t cute, he wasn’t so bad after all.

He was a little fierce-looking and didn’t talk much, but he was easy to appease, not clingy, and even gave Jian Tang pretty little gifts.

Jian Tang just couldn’t figure out why, whenever he went out carrying a gift from his wife, the powerful monsters who used to order him around turned deathly pale and trembled all over. Even his heartless boss stopped making him work overtime and gave him three raises in a row.

Jian Tang: ?

Could they have found out I have an adorable wife?

Wow, having a wife really does make me amazing! [Proudly plants hands on hips.jpg]

From the seme’s perspective.

Feng Xun is the most feared assassin in the world of horrors. The strange monsters are so terrified that they’d wet themselves just from catching his scent.

One day, Feng Xun grew tired of living like that.

He could no longer tell how he, lost in slaughter, was any different from those bloodthirsty, hideous monsters.

He was even beginning to forget what an ordinary human life was supposed to be like.

Feng Xun announced his retirement and spent a huge number of points ordering a safe house from the System.

He had just one requirement for this expensive safe house: Let me experience an ordinary human life full of everyday warmth.

His wish came true.

He got a cozy human apartment and an adorable wife who sweetly called him “darling.”

...Wait, wasn’t that the wrong way around?

Well, that didn’t matter. What mattered was that Feng Xun really was experiencing an ordinary human life full of everyday warmth:

He got to eat half-cooked, nutritious meals prepared by his wife’s clumsy cooking;

He got to hear his wife grumble angrily that his heartless boss still hadn’t paid his overtime wages;

Before his wife left for work, he got a sweet kiss and a “Be good and look after the house, baby!”

Good.

This was the ordinary, unremarkable human life he’d wanted.

He loved this life.

He loved his ordinary, unremarkable, adorable wife.

Bonus scene:

A shocking piece of bad news recently swept through the monster community in the world of horrors.

The top assassin, who’d announced he was going to lie flat and enjoy retirement, had apparently gotten back on his feet and started entering instances again!

Blood and chaos followed in his wake, with wails of despair everywhere!

According to unverified gossip, the main reason the top assassin came out of retirement was to earn money to support the cutest wife in the world.

The monsters: “...”

Damn it, kill monsters if you want, but why are you showing off your romance out of nowhere?

So what if you have a wife? Get lost!

Reader’s Guide:

****Upcoming story: “Can a Little Evil Dragon Have a Pretty Bride Too?”****

Preview:

Wu Jiao is the last little evil dragon in his family. He somehow ended up in human society, where he’s hungry and cold every day, wailing with hunger.

One day, he accidentally discovered his family’s secret to getting rich:

Just open a sacrificial passage, and loyal followers will offer up countless delicacies and riches with both hands. They’ll even pick the most beautiful bride in their clan and present her to their supreme Evil Dragon Lord.

Wu Jiao was so envious he started drooling.

Following the instructions in an ancient book, he summoned a sacrificial passage.

Luckily, even though thousands of years had passed, the evil dragon’s loyal followers were still around!

They offered the “Evil Dragon Lord” delicious snacks, tasty juice, warm bedding, brand-new clothes, the latest smartphone, limited-edition cartoon figurines...

They could even give the “Evil Dragon Lord” remote help with his homework!

Wu Jiao was so moved that tears streamed down his face. My followers are so devout!

Then one day, a tall, handsome man stepped out of the sacrificial passage and stood before him.

Wu Jiao: ?

Were his followers a little too devout?

He hadn’t even said a word, so why were they already offering him a bride??

From the seme’s perspective.

Li Shaoyuan is the sole heir to the wealthy Li family, elegant and exceptionally refined.

Few people know that he’s actually descended from demons.

One day, Li Shaoyuan discovered that someone had started a sacrificial ritual to summon a demon and make a deal.

The ancient magic circle radiated an evil aura. From the other side came a timid voice.

[I-I’m the Evil Dragon Lord you worship! I’m not dead yet! I need some... delicious little snacks. Offer them to me, right now, please.]

Li Shaoyuan: ?

Li Shaoyuan: Send 50 yuan and I’ll get you snacks.

Two minutes later, a crumpled slip of paper was tossed over. It read, in handwritten characters, “50 yuan.”

[This great lord really has no money. I’ll owe you for now... I’ll pay you back someday!!]

It was signed with a little dragon claw.

Li Shaoyuan: “...”

He gave him some delicious little snacks.

Later, he gave him plenty of other things, too.

One day, Li Shaoyuan heard that the sole descendant of the evil dragon clan was about to be married off to some important figure.

That important figure wasn’t him.

“...”

Holding a thick stack of IOUs, Li Shaoyuan tore open the passage through the magic circle and appeared before a certain deadbeat.

“Are y-you my bride?” the other asked innocently.

Li Shaoyuan curled his lips into a perfect demonic smile.

“Yes, I am,” he said.

Demons never make a deal at a loss.

Now it was time for him to collect his payment.
