The God Egg in the Glass Jar

Xu Qinghuai spent one starcoin at the black market on a packet of unknown fish eggs that were nearly dead, intending to use them as biofuel.

But the next day, a pair of bright red eyes grew on the eggs in his sink...

As it crawled slowly with its short, fuzzy tentacles, it stared straight at him, opened its hungry feeding orifice, and gave a faint chirp like a baby bird.

It looked eerie, terrifying, and unbearably pitiful.

Xu Qinghuai watched it as the secret hollow in the left side of his chest began responding wildly, rapidly secreting a large amount of mucus until it became a small, soggy pool.

So he picked it up and put it in an empty glass candy jar.

“Mine now.”

He curled his lips into a pleased smile.
