But people said there was something wrong with my memory, that he had never existed and was just a virtual character. But I was sure he was real. I just couldn't find him in the real world for the time being.
After everything we'd been through together, how could he not exist? Memories may lie, but my heart won't. It only beats when I think of him or see him.
That day, I entered VR to see him as usual, but he said, 'Xiaoyu, you don't belong here. You shouldn't keep losing yourself in this place. Go back.'
Then he disappeared. He vanished both from reality and from VR.
I looked for him for a long time after he disappeared, but couldn't find any news of him.
I stopped talking about him, though I still thought of him often. But I no longer clung to the past.
Later, I met someone who looked exactly like Liu Xiheng. I thought it was him, but apart from their looks, they had nothing else in common.
Still, I couldn't help looking at him, hoping to see the one I missed in his face.
One day, he asked me why I always looked at him so strangely. I told him:
'You really look like someone. His name is Liu Xiheng. He's my lover. Do you know him?'"
