The man's expression turned cold. "You're married?"

The man stormed out, furious, slamming the door behind him.

After dealing with the businessman, Huo Chengxun looked at the Beta sitting on his lap, looking both guilty and obedient. He set down the bowl of nourishing medicine and narrowed his eyes. "You're not hiding anything else from me, are you?"

Li You hugged his rounded belly. His once-thin body had grown plumper from all the careful feeding and affection. He remembered that the pheromones he'd been using to pretend to be an Omega were almost gone, and thought again of leaving for a faraway place to live a quiet, ordinary life.

He lowered his head, afraid to meet the man's eyes, and timidly shook it.
