My Wife Only Wanted My Money, So She Ran Off Once She'd Earned Enough

The main story is told in the third person.

Huo Ting had a wonderful wife: a university student from a poor mountain village whom his grandmother had supported during her lifetime.

At first, he looked down on this wife from the mountains.

She didn't know how to appreciate red wine or admire art.

Aside from her pretty face and being great in bed, she was practically good for nothing.

But his grandmother threatened to die if he didn't marry her, so he had no choice.

To make his wife miserable, he hired someone to pretend to be his lover and traveled all over the world with her.

He thought his wife would make a scene, but she didn't utter a word. When he came home drunk, she would even thoughtfully make him a bowl of hangover soup.

Gradually, he began to feel differently about his wife.

On one trip back to the country, for the first time, he brought her a gift. But on the coffee table, he saw divorce papers with his signature, dated a month earlier.

Suddenly, he remembered a night a month ago. He had been drunk, and his wife had gently brought him hangover soup along with a document. Without even asking what it was, he had signed it...
