In Hogwarts' turbulent fifth year, things aren't going very well for Harry Potter.
Under the Ministry of Magic's control, both the Daily Prophet and Witch Weekly barely mention the fact that Voldemort has returned.
All of Hogwarts, and even the entire wizarding world, think Harry is a liar.
On top of that, he's plagued by constant nightmares and headaches.
Umbridge's detentions only make matters worse.
He thinks his friends don't understand him, his godfather is trapped at Grimmauld Place, and even the highly respected Professor Dumbledore has begun ignoring him.
It is in the midst of this confusion and despair that Harry makes a new friend.
His new friend is from Ravenclaw.
His new friend is not only understanding, but also helps him with his schoolwork, treats his injuries, and even plays Quidditch with him.
Harry even begins to think
that he could spend half the time he used to give his old friends with his new friend and never get bored.
But as the school year goes on and one incident after another unfolds, he begins to see his new friend in a different light.
Along with his increasingly frequent nightmares and headaches, a mad idea gradually takes over his mind.
He wants to control... everything about the other boy.
Although Oswald Valentine struck up a conversation with The Chosen One on a whim, he gradually found himself becoming obsessed.
As he slowly began to grow tired of the Duelling Club, Harry Potter was undoubtedly a very interesting thing.
So even though dealing with this uncontrollable nuisance went against his usual principles, he couldn't help being drawn in.
He was attracted to Harry Potter the way birds are attracted to shiny things.
But one day, a gaze that seemed to follow him everywhere began to track him.
No matter where he went, he couldn't shake it.
