[JingLing] The Silver Bullet Beyond the Light Cone Lives Forever

They bestowed their grace upon us, and so we were given life once more.

They painted our future, and so our fates were decided for us.

We are silver bullets born to die, alive only to perish.

We wander at the edge of the light cone, searching for answers.

"Why can we protect others, but not save ourselves?"

"Why can't we defy fate and fire our bullets at the gods?"

"Zero, I once heard my brother say: Within the light cone, everything is fate."

"And beyond the light cone?"

"Hope."

* The protagonists are Jing Ling and Shinichi; Jing Ling is the pairing, and the police academy group are friends only.

* Sci-fi AU with androids, including many original elements. Some inspiration comes from NieR: Automata.

* Happy ending, with angst and sweetness. [The Jing Ling portrayal is more tragic than in the original. Read with caution if that's not for you.]

* Not a traditional fix-it fic. Plot-focused, with a serious tone.

* I'm a casual fan returning after a long break. Updates depend on inspiration. Welcome to discuss the plot!
