#Unbelievably immersive roleplay, I saw my great-grandma#

Studio: We’re the Infinity studio. Would you be interested in a sponsorship, Yin? The pay is generous.

Shen Yin: It’s not about the money. If it costs nine yuan, even if it’s a pile of crap, I’ve got to give it a taste.

[New book] Welcome to the Late-Night Turtle Soup Livestream [Crime Investigation]

Everyone dies twice: once when they stop breathing, and once when they’re forgotten]

01

Gui An is an ordinary fourth-year university student. His only hobbies are occasionally reading novels and occasionally playing murder mysteries and turtle soup riddles.

After an accident, he transmigrates to more than twenty years in the past and becomes an unemployed drifter living in a rented room.

The original owner of the body had died suddenly at his computer after staying up late for too long. When Gui An opened his eyes, the computer screen was still on a chat room.

02

More than twenty years ago, the internet economy was not yet as vast as it would become, but some households already had computers, and some websites had introduced livestreams and chat rooms.

An ordinary chat room gradually began attracting widespread attention.

The host never showed his whole face. The audience could only hear his voice and see his hands typing.

[Late-Night Turtle Soup, Immersive Deduction]

A mystery-solving chat livestream unlike any other.

Each time, the host of the livestream presented a riddle.

The audience could ask questions to reconstruct the truth.

The host would only answer: yes, no, or irrelevant.

People left comments and joined in…

Until

Until one riddle almost perfectly matched a local case.

*

Gui An discovers that ever since he transmigrated, he keeps dreaming. The dreams take place in different locations: sometimes a beauty salon, sometimes a construction site, sometimes an abandoned factory, sometimes a dense forest…

But one thing never changes: someone is always there waiting for him, and that person gives him a turtle soup riddle.

He can only deduce the truth by asking yes-or-no questions.

But he has a limited number of questions.

If he works out the truth, that person will tell him what it is. If he fails, he will never see that person again

At first, he thought he was dreaming up turtle soup riddles…

Until

He received a phone call.

“Hello, is this Gui An? We’re with the Municipal Criminal Investigation Brigade, ”
