Liang Sui has a pretty face and droopy puppy eyes that make people's hearts melt, but he's a bit slow and has only one thing on his mind. So the System assigned him the role of the martial-arts-obsessed lackey, a simple character in the domineering protagonist's story.

Apparently the original lackey suffered a mysterious mental breakdown, so Heaven had no choice but to pick a Host to take his place.

At first, Liang Sui couldn't quite shake his old dog habits.

He liked licking people, sniffing them, nuzzling and rubbing against them, and showing his soft, pale belly to the people he liked.

The System's lessons: No licking people! No sniffing them! Don't rub against people whenever you want! And don't show your belly to strangers!

The System finally finds time to check in. It stares at Liang Sui, who's running amok in the demon realm and is practically climbing onto the Demon Venerable's head, and a question mark slowly appears.

It discovers, to its shock, that the Demon Venerable is the domineering protagonist, and the protagonist of this world is actually the reborn, corrupted, world-destroying version!

Damn, the beginner-level world has turned into an SSS-rank hell difficulty!

Looking at the corrupted protagonist, who's lost his desire to destroy the world and has turned to developing the demon realm, the System asks, trembling, "...Babe, how did you do it?" Liang Sui has become the world's savior, earned so much merit that the world has exempted him from heavenly tribulations, and even improves his cultivation in his sleep just by breathing.

Liang Sui: I followed your instructions and became the domineering protagonist's puppy. He wasn't a stranger, so I sniffed him, licked him, and cuddled up to him. I even lay down and let him rub my belly!

System: D-did he only rub your belly?

Liang Sui: He rubbed my butt and tail too!

System: ...Fine, then.

Everyone says the new Demon Venerable is powerful, ruthless, and merciless, and anyone who offends him won't live to see the next day. He's the terror of the entire cultivation world.

When the immortal and demonic factions gather for the appearance of an ancient secret realm, they discover that the Demon Venerable, rumored to have three heads and six arms and be so terrifying he could scare people to death, is holding a fluffy dog utterly unsuited to his position.

The big dog is adorably goofy and doesn't look like anything that could have grown up in the demon realm!

With the dog's paws nearly smearing across the Demon Venerable's face, an attendant tremulously asks if he should hold the dog for him.

The Demon Venerable pats the dog's head and says calmly, "No need. This is my wife."

Everyone: ???

Good grief, the people from the demon realm are going after dogs now too?!

2. The protagonist really was a dog in his previous life. His name was given to him by the neighbors.
