My Dead Ex-Husband Is the Emperor

[Self-Courting] [Jealous of Himself] [An Emperor Who's Crazy About Her x A Voluptuous, Gorgeous, Ill-Tempered Widow]

Chu Qingyi had lived in Jinling for years when she married a hunter.

After their wedding, he treated her wonderfully, putting her first in everything. Their life together was peaceful and happy.

Chu Qingyi thought things would stay that way forever.

But in the second year of their marriage, her husband fell into a remote mountain ravine. No body was ever found, dead or alive.

Three years into widowhood, a noble from the capital came looking for Chu Qingyi. Only then did she learn she was a long-lost blood relative of the Duke's mansion.

She was brought back to the capital as a widow, in an awkward position, and planned to steer clear of conflict and keep a low profile.

But at a palace banquet, Chu Qingyi saw her supposedly dead ex-husband clad in imperial robes, his crown tassels swaying gently. He was none other than the current emperor, Emperor Chenyuan.

*

Emperor Chenyuan often had the same dream. In it, a woman smiled sweetly and kissed him. She would cuddle in his arms, tug his ear and call him a lecher, then gaze at him through tear-filled eyes and call him husband, begging him to be gentler and slower.

Every time he awoke, Emperor Chenyuan thought the woman in his dream was wanton and frivolous. Why, then, could he not get her out of his mind?

Until the day of the palace banquet, when he saw the beautiful widow recently brought back to the Duke's mansion.

She was exactly the woman from his dreams, the one who bit his lip.

The emperor, who ruled over all beneath heaven, thought that perhaps if he had her, he would finally stop longing for her.

Later

In the dim imperial study, Chu Qingyi's wrists were bound, leaving her unable to move.

The emperor unhurriedly removed her hairpin, letting her dark hair fall loose, then kissed her pale, upturned neck.

Listening to the beautiful woman in his arms tremble and sob, he asked in a low, hoarse voice:

"My lady, did your late husband ever kiss you in these places?"

Note:

1. Both leads are each other's first. The heroine transmigrates, and the hero is an emperor.

2. It's the classic amnesia trope, but the hero is absolutely crazy about her.

3. The heroine is a gorgeous, voluptuous older-sister type, while the hero is a secretly unhinged puppy-like man.
