"Wow, we meet again!"
The chaos all began when a new... detective? was transferred to the Bludhaven Police Department.
The handsome red-haired boy repeated the word.
"Yep! I'm a detective."
"I usually handle things like finding lost cats and dogs. The police department next door sometimes asks me to look into murder cases and stuff, too. Anyway, you can bring me any case!"
Officer Grayson, holding a cup of coffee, froze. They'd only met a short while ago, and now he watched the other person bound over to greet him enthusiastically.
"I told you it'd be soon. Look at that, you didn't believe me."
Dick calmly took a sip of coffee and retorted, "You only said that work was transferring you here from Metropolis. You never said anything about the police department."
The cheerful detective tilted his head. "Huh? Didn't I tell you?"
"No."
Even Dick hadn't expected this detective, who looked like a nepotism hire foisted on them, to be so capable.
Well, at least the higher-ups had finally done something right.
But still...
Why did this guy keep stumbling into the kind of serious crime that only happened once every two or three months?!
Once every two weeks was ridiculous...!
God, his sleep...!
The detective himself, meanwhile, was remarkably optimistic.
"Huh? Are you tired? Then I'll go by myself this time~ Don't worry, I'll definitely solve it!"
Dick, who was still the Big Blue Bird of Bludhaven at night, wasn't reassured at all.
He looked close to losing it. "Wait!"
He reluctantly scrapped his plan to head back to Wayne Manor and rest for a while, then put his badge back on.
"I'm coming with you."
The detective was delighted to finally have a regular partner after arriving in Bludhaven.
"If you're tired, I'm fine going alone."
"No. I'm just here to protect that brilliant brain of yours."
With a chocolate bar between his teeth, the detective nodded. "So you're here to protect me, then?"
Dick lowered the car window and glanced at the redheaded detective.
"If you can promise not to charge recklessly into investigations anymore, I'll consider letting you work alone."
"...What are you waiting for? Get in."
