Jason took in a little girl and named her August, since they had met in August.
The girl was as well-behaved as a delicate doll, yet she loved going out late at night to wander near the criminal alleys. Jason worried himself sick over it.
Until he saw her controlling the rabbit plushie as it transformed into a giant monster, viciously chasing the scumbags who tried to grab her for eight whole blocks.

Jason chose to put a few more bullets into the scumbags, then took the girl home and mended her damaged rabbit plushie.
