Three-year-old Akai encountered an abandoned baby on a winter night.
Later, he gave her a name and taught her Japanese, sniping, and Jeet Kune Do. He remembered her periods, took her out for secret drinks, skipped school with her, and went street racing with her. He also took her to see Manhattanhenge and Iceland's black sand beaches.
He loved her like any big brother would.
He listened as she called him "Big Brother Shuichi" in her sweet, clingy voice. Gradually, he began to put her first in every decision, and their lives wound around each other, leaving deep marks that lasted for years.
Little sister, little sister.
His precious little sister, the one person he could never bear to lose.
But one day, after joining the FBI, he came home to find several of his knitted hats missing for no reason, the scent of her body wash lingering between his pillows, and dried, mysterious stains on the bedsheets.
Akai gazed deeply, deeply at the little sister he loved.
For once, he firmly insisted that she return to Japan for university.
Then, on November 7...
Everything spiraled out of control.

Akai suspects that the member of the Organization he staged an accident with is his late little sister.
But he has no proof.
She has a face like his sister's, the same golden hair, and the same real name.
But she thinks nothing of human life, is capricious, and is nothing like his softhearted, innocent, gentle, and kind little sister. She has even tried to kill him several times.
Still, it doesn't matter. He'll find the proof.

On the first day Subaru Okiya appeared, Mei Yukinoshita was already thinking about how to peel off his cat disguise.
She thought she was doing a pretty good job pretending to be his pursuer.
The Junior Detective League: Yay! Big Brother Subaru is totally pursuing Big Sister Mei!
The elementary school student at Poirot Cafe, giving him a half-lidded look: Hey, hey, anyone can tell this is just a couple's game. Don't go feeding everyone else a heaping plate of public displays of affection!
Tips:
1. This story has a mountain of personal headcanons, so beware of out-of-character writing. It's pseudo-incest, and the girl isn't considered adopted by the Akai family. No romance before adulthood. Everything stays within what can be written on Jinjiang.
2. The police academy group all survive. Volume One is about the siblings' everyday life; Volume Two is about the Organization. Despite the title mentioning pink hair, Okiya's relevant scenes come much later, and most of the story is about Akai's romance.
3. About the romantic relationships:
Akai will have some interest in Jodie, as in the original, but it won't be enough to count as love, and they won't date. There won't be any romance with Akemi; I'll try to make that feel plausible.
A few important characters will have feelings for the girl, and she won't be completely unmoved either.
4. An angst-filled story of extreme romantic tension.
If any of the above bothers you, please click the X right away. I only wrote this because there was so little Akai content available. TvT
And please don't attack the original characters or my girl, I beg you! I think Akai is a character with a lot of appeal, and I like both Jodie and Akemi very much.
