Her Story

In my previous life, I didn't believe the marquis's eldest son could truly fall for me. I thought he had married me only because of the imperial decree, and had no choice.

It wasn't until he left for the frontier and died on the battlefield that I learned I had already fallen for him amid his boundless tenderness.

As my life ebbed away, I finally understood my own feelings.

Reborn, I no longer avoid him. Instead, I take the initiative and test his feelings.

His Story

In my previous life, I fell for her without even realizing it. I knew how difficult life was for an orphan like her, and that she would struggle to find a suitable match.

So I used my military achievements to obtain an imperial decree arranging our marriage. It was a kind of forced match.

But when I made it home, clinging to the last of my strength, I learned she had died.

Reborn, I refuse to let her die in despair.

So I avoid her again and again, protecting her from the shadows.
