1.
One day, Shunpei Sanada heard a deafening remark in the ballpark restroom: "A pitcher soothing a catcher? That's completely backward!"
He immediately thought of the team's starting catcher, Toge Fuwa. The guy was intimidating when he raised an eyebrow, and certainly no good when he opened his mouth.
"Don't say that. You don't know how scary Toge-senpai is when he's really angry. The pitcher has to soothe him... Even the coach can't calm him down!"
...They really are talking about him.
2.
Toge Fuwa never imagined that accepting one pitch from Sanada in elementary school, "to repay him for taking the initiative to team up with him," would turn into "taking Sanada's pitches every time he takes the mound."
By high school, he'd become a proper catcher... and he was still catching Sanada's pitches!
3.
On his third day after taking up his post, Raizo Todoroki surveyed the baseball club members standing before him.
An unstable infielder, an outfielder who was nowhere to be found, a pitcher with no stamina, and a catcher who could explode... This team had too many problems.
4.
Raichi Todoroki really liked Sanada-senpai and Fuwa-senpai. The former took him out for pork cutlet rice during the holidays. The latter got into a hands-on fight with his good-for-nothing dad alongside him, then took him out for pork cutlet rice.
He'd like them even more if the two senpai didn't hold him up by his armpits from either side after a win and lift him so high.
