The General Holds Me

You Xu found a general covered in blood. A voice appeared in her mind: You must offer her incense and help her rebuild her body.

So the female ghost of the general stayed within five meters of her every day. She was aloof and taciturn, always brooding over life's sorrows like Lin Daiyu.

You Xu was already broke. Every cent she earned from working went toward exam fees or offerings for the general.

Only later did she learn that the general was a tragic cannon-fodder character in her best friend's novel.

So You Xu started urging her best friend to revise the story, revise it, revise it again.

But when the novel was published, the tragic cannon-fodder became so popular that her best friend began planning a second book, a love story about the tragic cannon-fodder.

Tragic cannon-fodder Wenren Qi: ??

You Xu: ???

On the first day after Wenren Qi rebuilt her body, You Xu lay in the same bed with her, so nervous she didn't know what to do with her hands and feet. Wenren Qi said only three words: "If you're not sleeping, get out."

You Xu exploded: "This is my bed!!!"

Later, Wenren Qi became a superstar, and You Xu passed the civil service exam.

One day, You Xu looked at Wenren Qi on a giant screen and felt that they were drifting farther apart. But she didn't expect Wenren Qi, fresh from a magazine shoot, to call her and say, "You Xu, can I sleep in your bed tonight?"

You Xu: "Huh?"

Wenren Qi: "I can't sleep without you."

This is a story about You Xu taking care of Wenren Qi at first, then Wenren Qi taking care of You Xu later. Before long, they end up taking care of each other in the same bed.
