Tang Jing, a corporate drone who'd spent twenty years taking the blame at the Space-Time Administration, was forced to become a trainee System and partnered with a colleague who was a professional at playing domineering CEOs. Together, they had to complete the missions in every world in a simulated-world System.
The good news was that this simulated world was the starting world, and the missions were very simple. The bad news was that his domineering-CEO colleague had a bit of an occupational illness, along with a "piles of debt" buff that could turn simple missions into hell difficulty.
World One
In this farming-world story, all they had to do was farm as instructed to complete the mission. But the CEO took over and talked NPCs into investing, immediately running up a debt of 3.5 billion and sending the mission hurtling in the opposite direction.
World Two
In this apocalyptic world, he should have been able to use his ability to join the strongest organization, fight his way to the top, and complete the mission. Instead, his ability bugged out, making everyone he treated go insane. A medical malpractice disaster left him owing supplies to ten thousand people.
World Three
In this cultivation world, his exceptional talent should have gotten him into the number-one sect, where he could become the ancestor's disciple and soar to success. Instead, he mistakenly recruited the ancestor who was supposed to become his master to open a shop. Later, the shop was smashed by the demon clan, and unable to pay for the damages, he was sent straight to the border.
World Four
In this imperial-examination story, passing the exams should have gotten him a government job and a chance to make a name for himself. After finally passing, his family saddled him with a huge debt, forcing him to snatch a position early. But instead, he was assigned to help the poor in another world.
World Five
He should have been able to use the order form left by his father to find suppliers, stock up on suitable goods, run the general store well, and turn a profit. But the item malfunctioned and pointed him straight into a huge mess.
World Six
An unlucky streamer whose unscrupulous company had withheld his wages got caught up in a bizarre, abnormal case while going to demand his pay. Forced to investigate the case to scrape by, he unexpectedly became famous along the way.
World Seven
He inherited his uncle's inn, along with the family's ancestral debt. With the inn at risk of being seized at any moment, he could only turn it into a haunted inn. But he never expected all the employees to have secrets, and for those secrets to involve him.
The worlds in this novel are all wildly mixed-genre, never just one type. They're serious yet absurd, so don't overanalyze the details.
Theme: Be a law-abiding, upstanding citizen.
It's terrible that such a cool author has so many works. His writing style is very good. How come he has such terrible results? Why doesn't anyone read it?
