After Moving in with a Male Ghost to Write Horror Novels

Shi Jian is a horror novelist. To find inspiration, he moves into a haunted house.

Just a few days after moving into the apartment, Shi Jian sees "another self" staring motionlessly at him in the mirror.

One day, after moving in, he runs into an identical "Shi Jian" when he goes out.

Shi Jian: "...I've come to the right place."

After observing for a while, Shi Jian discovers that the ghost in the apartment is gloomy, obsessive, and terrifying. Whenever he lets his guard down, it tries to devour his body.

But he looks down at the tiny octopus, whose tentacles are wrapped tightly around his fingers, and can't bring himself to pull his hand away.

Just as Shi Jian is getting absorbed in observing the "octopus ghost," a fully armed team knocks on his front door.

The moment he opens it, every gun is trained on him. A crackling voice comes through the radio: "Back away. Don't provoke him... Everyone, level-one alert!"

Shi Jian is baffled.

Spatial rifts. Ghosts invade. The state establishes the Special Anomaly Control Bureau, tasked with clearing out the supernatural.

While hunting down these ghosts, however, the Bureau discovers that an ordinary person keeps slipping into secret, heavily guarded areas without anyone noticing.

"An E-class elevator, a D-class mass grave, a B-class folk-custom site... He even moved into an A-class abandoned apartment building!"

After keeping him under surveillance, the Bureau discovers that whenever this man starts updating his novel, a new spatial rift appears.

Everyone: "...!"

We can't let any more monsters appear!

Shi Jian is taken to the Special Anomaly Control Bureau, where he sees the man interrogating him in the office. The imposing man in uniform reaches out his hand.

"Hello, I'm Yu Jin, captain of the Bureau's First Squad."

The instant Shi Jian's gaze settles on him, the tentacles coiled around his chest slowly tighten. At the same time, a hoarse voice murmurs darkly in his ear.

"Who are you looking at...?"

"Excuse Me, Have You Seen My Boyfriend?"

Several strange people break into Ning Qi's home.

He doesn't know where they came from, but he doesn't mind taking them in and sharing his food with them.

For the sake of his new friends, though, he specifically tells them not to go into the room on the third floor. His new friends are all very nice to him. They can move and talk, and they even eat with him.

Especially the most seriously injured man. He tells Ning Qi his name is Lu Shifei. Whenever Ning Qi brings him medicine, he tells him about the world outside.

Ning Qi really likes this friend.

But his new friends still go up to the third floor.

Zombies have erupted outside, mutant species are everywhere, and the city has fallen. The group fled here, only to discover that some humans have survived.

This person is naive and ignorant, living alone in a well-stocked villa, enjoying a life hundreds of times better than their own desperate flight. The forbidden third floor must be hiding many treasures.

That night, they sneak upstairs and excitedly open the locked door. But what shocks everyone is the neat rows of zombie corpses inside.

And Ning Qi is crouching on the ground, holding a twisting, pitch-black "plant" in his hands, carefully tending to it as he prepares to set it down.

A few days later, all of Ning Qi's new friends leave, and the man also tells him he has to go. Ning Qi is alone in the house again.

After quietly passing a few days, Ning Qi packs his things and sets off to find his friend. His friend's name is Lu Shifei.

Lu Shifei returns to the human survivor base. After resting, he throws himself back into action.

This time, many people have been found and brought back to the base. When he returns, he only passes through for a moment. That night, a figure carrying a pillow darts into his arms.

Ning Qi is so happy that his voice practically skips: "Lu Shifei, can you tell me a bedtime story tonight?"

[Bonus Scene]

Lu Shifei takes Ning Qi on a mission.

After killing a few zombies and containing a mutant, he turns around and finds Ning Qi crouching on the ground.

He sighs helplessly and brushes the dirt off Ning Qi's hands. "You can't bury No. 95 in dirt."

Ning Qi nods.

The next time, Lu Shifei finds him watering it instead.
