[Restrained, patient, gentle older daddy seme × clear-headed, resilient, cold-faced but adorable mute uke]
Chi Ting has a boyfriend who loves him very much. Unfortunately, an accident in the past left him disfigured. Though his boyfriend loves him dearly, Chi Ting can tell that every night, his boyfriend turns his face away from him.
Then Chi Ting is reborn, before his boyfriend becomes a powerful, influential figure.
Seventeen-year-old Chi Ting is still studying in a poor, underdeveloped county. When he learns that his boyfriend has yet to build a fortune from nothing, he skips school for the first time and goes to see him at the construction site.
His boyfriend has no memory of their relationship, but his unmarred face wears a carefree smile Chi Ting has never seen before.
And so Tan Xian gains a little shadow who follows him everywhere.
From the construction site to the rented apartment, Chi Ting sits outside the gloomy doorway.
Until one night, Tan Xian opens the door.
He crouches down and looks at him. "I don't know why you're so set on following me, but think carefully. If you come with me, you'll be with me for the rest of your life."
Chi Ting nods.

On the day he turns nineteen, Chi Ting is coaxed by his friends into celebrating a rich young man's birthday.
Chi Ting has a pretty face and a great figure, and with no influential family behind him, there are more people eyeing him than you could count on two hands.
Just as the rich young man is carrying the drunk Chi Ting out, the private room door opens.
He watches the newly risen big shot from their circle take Chi Ting from his side. The man looks down at him gently but firmly. "Sorry, my wife is still young and can't resist temptation."
"I'll indulge him and teach him what's best, but I won't indulge you."
[A sweet little bonus scene]
At the construction site, a coworker tells Tan Xian that the boy has come to see him again.
Tan Xian silently removes his gloves, wipes away his sweat, and walks over to the boy. He takes his schoolbag and asks, "Did you skip class again today?"
Chi Ting follows close beside him and shakes his head.
Tan Xian: "Liar."
Chi Ting hesitates, then nods.
Tan Xian sighs and asks him, "Why?"
Chi Ting rummages in his school uniform pocket, takes out a slip of paper, and holds it out to Tan Xian.
The words are written neatly in black ink on white paper: I miss you.
Reading Guide
1. The seme is ten years older than the uke.
2. The period setting is fictional and unrelated to real life.
3. Chi Ting's mutism will be cured, and the seme will not be disfigured again.
4. No angst, and the couple is very sweet! The seme will build a fortune from nothing and rise to power, while the uke will also have his own career. After all, he has the golden finger of being reborn!
5. Calling him "wife" in the blurb fits the original line better and makes it more satisfying. It has no other significance.
