I Hate That You're Such a Blockhead

Xu Xiyu had never even met Zhang Yang, yet she planned to take over the duty of caring for his elderly mother.

Zhang Yang died while saving someone from danger. His life ended at the age of twenty-six.

When Xu Xiyu first heard about it, she could only think that good people never live long. Later, when she read the follow-up report in the newspaper, she was furious. The family he had saved had never once visited Zhang Yang's widowed mother.

After learning that Zhang Yang's mother lived not far from her own home, Xu Xiyu began visiting Auntie Zhang whenever she had time. Once they got to know each other, she planned to ask her to be her godmother, so she could care for Zhang Yang's mother in his place.

Zhang Yang's story made Xu Xiyu realize that if she wanted to live well, she had to let go of her compulsion to help others and think more about herself.

But when she decided to care for a stranger in old age, it was clear she was a person whose words and actions didn't match. In the end, she too lost her life trying to help someone.

Reborn before Zhang Yang's death, Xu Xiyu really wanted to go visit Auntie Zhang.

Now that Zhang Yang was alive, Auntie Zhang didn't know her.

What excuse could she use to visit Auntie Zhang?

Xu Xiyu had a sudden idea: she would have a banner made and deliver it to her.

Zhang Yang had done plenty of good deeds, so bringing him a banner wouldn't seem strange.

Auntie Zhang really didn't recognize Xu Xiyu. At first, she wondered if this overly familiar young woman had a crush on her son.

Later, she realized Xu Xiyu didn't. Her son was practically saying, "I like you," outright, yet she still hadn't picked up on it.

Xu Xiyu was confused too. Why had her mother suddenly said, as she passed by, "Winking at a blind man"?

Who was winking?

Who was blind?

Maybe her mother had watched a drama with a blockheaded male lead and was in a bad mood. She couldn't stand her own daughter, either.
