Where Are the Cats We Were Promised?

The family of three, Lian Xin, her mother, and her father, were reborn in a cultivation world. Her parents were about to ascend, and they planned out two possible paths for their daughter, who just wanted to lie flat. The first was to live deep in the mountains and woods and never venture out into the world. The second was that, if she found life in the mountains too dull and insisted on going out, she should go apprentice herself to the Lianqing Sect.

The Lianqing Sect was a sword sect in the cultivation world.

At the mention of a sword sect, Lian Xin hurriedly shook her head. No way. A sword sect sounded exhausting.

Understanding their daughter's concerns, her parents explained that the Lianqing Sect's leader was profit-driven. The sect had a Cat Peak, whose master was a cat demon, and there were plenty of cat disciples under him. The Elder Cat loved to take it easy and never forced his cat-demon disciples to practice swordsmanship. The cat disciples didn't even have to maintain human form all the time. They could do whatever made them comfortable.

Her parents had done the Elder Cat a favor. If Lian Xin gave him their names, he would take her as his disciple.

They had also planned a backup option in case their daughter suddenly decided she wanted to work hard. She could skip the Lianqing Sect and go to the Tianyuan Sect instead, a sword sect suited to hard workers. All she had to do was bring the sword they'd given her and show it to the sect leader. Becoming a direct disciple would be no problem.

Lian Xin wasn't a fool. She decisively chose the Lianqing Sect.

She wanted lots and lots of cat senior sisters and brothers!

She wanted a carefree life of playing with cats and dogs!

After enduring countless hardships (crossed out), Lian Xin finally arrived at the Lianqing Sect. She still hadn't seen the Elder Cat her parents had mentioned, or even a single cat hair. She was furious. Where were all the cats they'd promised her?

And had she been led into a trap?

Lian Xin, a total mama's girl and daddy's girl, was beginning to doubt her parents for the first time. But they'd already ascended, so she couldn't ask them about it.

She should've become a rogue cultivator instead and lived as a street-roaming freeloader in the cultivation world!
