[Interstellar + future native × transmigrator from ancient times + cyberpunk]
A nonhuman gong who looks human × a shou who looks like a machine but is actually human
Charron, the newly appointed marshal of the New Human Federation, was caught in a starship accident and transmigrated to a thousand years in the past, just before a technological revolution. The locals also infected him with a rogue virus, disabling his cybernetics and weapons.
A tiger fallen among dogs, Charron was given by the powerful as an engagement gift to his betrothed, Lyra.
Charron looked up. He had seen this Lyra before.
Two thousand years in the future, in a museum, in the exhibition hall on the revolution.
The skeleton of the person before him had been suspended high above, the exhibition hall's most precious artifact.
.
Historically, Lyra died in an explosion six years later.
To avoid changing history, Charron endured the indignity, planning to wait for Lyra to die, purge the virus, and then slip away.
He kept a low profile and enlisted part-time, never expecting to star in a tale of "this rookie is ridiculously strong, yet far too cautious."
Even without cybernetics, Charron remained undefeated at the military academy, undefeated in the army, undefeated across the star sector... And before long, he became "the youngest major general in history."
Charron was so caught up in fighting that it wasn't until the celebratory banquet that he suddenly realized something was wrong.
The name he was currently registered under had also appeared in the museum.
.
As a "human meant to be admired," Lyra had no interest in fighting and killing.
Lyra only had to play the role of a social butterfly, so delicate that the shockwaves from a fight between cyborgs could leave him at death's door.
No one knew that he was actually a genuine "corpse flower," with a lifespan long enough to outlast humanity.
But that would be lonely.
Charron's arrival changed everything.
From personal attendant to bodyguard, and then to rising star in the military, Charron finally confessed to Lyra: "The truth is, I'm from the future. I know you'll die soon unless you come with me."
Lyra: "Is this an invitation to elope?"
Charron: "...It can be."
Lyra: "All right, I accept."
And so, a thousand years later, Marshal Charron's starship was destined to be discovered, and Charron himself would return to their promised land, where the wandering star would find its bearings once more.
Before-you-read tips:
[The goods]
A handsome, capable couple, one-on-one, happy ending, each other's first love.
There are disposable characters, and the gong was once engaged, but there was nothing but hate between them. No angst over it. They are each other's only one, body and soul, and adore each other.
They are both strong-willed. In a fight, the shou could knock out the entire universe with one punch, but the gong is not weak.
The story opens from the shou's perspective. In the middle and later parts, the perspective switches between the gong and shou as needed for the narrative.
[The setting]
This is my take on a cyberpunk future, with a very, very, very large number of original settings. There is no logic or theory behind any of it; it's all entirely unscientific.
The setting is a completely fictional interstellar future. All dates are in the future. The gong comes from an era earlier than the one the shou grew up in, but strictly speaking, the gong isn't an ancient person in the historical or period-drama sense; he is only ancient from the shou's perspective.
There may be [mildly disturbing content]: the shou has extensive bodily modifications, and many other characters have various modifications too. Please don't judge these fictional characters by real-world ethics or standards of acceptance. The gong's mind is also rather unconventional (no tentacles or furry features), and he does many abnormal things. In short, please don't relate this to real life, I beg you.
