Runaway Bride

Just after Jiang Zhiyao returned from studying in France, her parents told her they were arranging a marriage for her.

She heard the man was very old-fashioned.

Jiang Zhiyao was free-spirited and longed for freedom. She couldn't accept a loveless marriage that would bind her to someone.

So she ran away.

On the way, she met a man who was exactly her type.

To win him over, Jiang Zhiyao pretended she had nowhere to go. "Hey, can I come home with you?"

The man turned her down. "No."

But in the end, he still took her home.

He was perfect in every way, except that none of her flirtations got a reaction. Jiang Zhiyao had to work very hard to win him over.

As her boyfriend, he was gentle, considerate, and attentive, but Jiang Zhiyao found him a little too boring.

After a while, she started to lose interest. Just then, her parents found her and told her she no longer had to marry for an alliance.

Jiang Zhiyao packed her things and left a note: "I don't love you anymore. Goodbye."

Their brief romance ended in a breakup.

When Jiang Zhiyao said goodbye, she never thought they would actually meet again.

After all, what were the odds that a wealthy young lady from the capital and a poor country boy would ever cross paths again?

Until she met the man she had originally been engaged to.

Jiang Zhiyao: "Long time no see."

Him: "Not that long, ex-girlfriend?"
