The Goddess's Cover Was Blown

Shen Lemeng, the beauty of the art department, is gentle and refined, with an elegant air. Everyone at school agrees she's a goddess.

To maintain that goddess image, she works hard to keep up appearances and carefully cultivate her persona.

She hopes to land herself a rich, handsome man and live a worry-free life.

At long last, she finds a suitable target, only to suffer the first major setback of her life.

From the start, a friend of the rich, handsome man sees through her goddess act.

Liang Ziheng first hears the name Shen Lemeng from a friend.

A group of men are gathered together, discussing which girl at school is the prettiest.

He expects them to disagree, but his friends, who usually can't see eye to eye, are surprisingly unanimous this time.

They praise the girl to the skies.

They call her a peerless beauty, a fairy descended to earth.

Their descriptions couldn't be more exaggerated.

Liang Ziheng can't help scoffing. "She's got two eyes and a nose, same as anyone else. How pretty can she be?"

The very next day, he has to eat his words.

Apparently, there really is someone in this world who can be that beautiful.

Just one look and your heart stops. It's as if the two of you belong to different worlds.

But Liang Ziheng doesn't want to face-slap himself, so for the first time he says something he doesn't mean. "Don't all girls look like that?"

His mouth may deny it, but his eyes keep sneaking glances at her.

Until one day, he sees Shen Lemeng get kicked out by her landlord for not being able to pay rent. Wearing pajamas, with bedhead and her hands on her hips, she stands in the sun and yells at the landlord for a full two hours.

Liang Ziheng: "..."

When his friends once again rave about how gentle and refined Shen Lemeng is, Liang Ziheng's mouth twitches.

To keep them from getting fooled, he drops a subtle hint. "What you see on the surface may not be the truth."

After they find out the two of them are together, his friends angrily confront him. "Didn't you say she was average-looking and two-faced?"

Liang Ziheng silently looks up at the sky. "Who said that?"

His friends indignantly reply, "A dog said it!"

"Woof!"
