☆ A difference in status / marriage first, love later / pretending turns into reality / a subordinate dares to defy the cold and aloof Nine-Thousand-Year-Old [Couple: A strong, obedient, mute younger top who expresses his love through sheer strength in bed, and a cool, detached yet accepting Nine-Thousand-Year-Old] After her older sister entered the palace, she was declared dead. Liu Shengmian couldn’t accept it. When she heard the palace was recruiting mute people to serve as attendants, Liu Shengmian drank a bottle of poison to make herself mute so she could enter the palace and investigate the truth. But not long afterward, she was inexplicably chosen by the Imperial Preceptor. The very next day, she was married and ushered into the bridal chamber. Everyone said Liu Shengmian was lucky. Even as a mute, she had caught the eye of the Nine-Thousand-Year-Old. But Liu Shengmian knew the Imperial Preceptor felt nothing for her. She had been chosen simply because a mute couldn’t leak secrets, and because she was searching desperately for something. Having a goal meant having a weakness, and having a weakness made her easy to control. That was all. On their wedding night, the vermilion curtains swayed gently. Sui Yangui leaned close to Liu Shengmian’s ear, but her words held not a trace of romance. “Your sister isn’t dead,” she said. “Work for me, and I’ll tell you where she is. Once the job is done, we’ll go our separate ways. I’ll set you free. What do you say?” From then on, Liu Shengmian became the sharpest blade in Sui Yangui’s hand, following her north and south, her sword stained red by the setting sun. In public, Liu Shengmian called Sui Yangui her wife. In private, she called her Master. - The great task is complete, and the sisters have reunited. Liu Shengmian’s voice has long since been healed. Keeping their agreement, she asks Sui Yangui for a divorce, only to see the usually cool and collected woman suddenly panic. “Mute Liu, you’re so heartless.” Sui Yangui grips Liu Shengmian’s sleeve, her voice hoarse. “Have you forgotten the vows of eternal devotion you made in bed?” Liu Shengmian is speechless. She wants to say, “I haven’t forgotten.” But before she can open her mouth, the woman speaks again. “I’ll give you everything I have.” The Nine-Thousand-Year-Old, whose power is second to none, lowers her noble head and kisses the back of Liu Shengmian’s hand, whispering: “Please don’t leave me, all right?” ★ The mute younger one is obedient and incredibly strong. The Nine-Thousand-Year-Old is cool and detached, but fiercely protective. ★ One-on-one, happy ending, daily updates, posted at 11 p.m. Blurb screenshot dated 2024/11/11 Theme: Grow through adversity
