★ A taciturn, aloof, devoted younger woman x a gentle, sickly older woman who doesn't always make sense when she talks
★ Please add my next book, After Switching Bodies with the Cold Demon Lord. The blurb is at the bottom!
01.
Ji Ling's parents both died, and she had no family left. People around her all said she was unlucky, with a fate so harsh it would bring misfortune to others.
Ji Ling didn't care much about the gossip. It wasn't as if she socialized with people anyway. By day, she worked as an undertaker; at night, she took jobs such as checking feng shui for coffins or helping the dead pass on.
There was no particular trick to helping the dead pass on. She just listened to them ramble about their past regrets, offered a few words of comfort, then drew a formation to send them on their way.
She had been doing this for six years and had never once failed. Then one night, perhaps because she hadn't checked the almanac before leaving home, she suddenly encountered a ghost.
Inside the formation, she saw a face exactly like her own.
The person about to be sent down the Yellow Springs Road looked exactly like her and kept calling someone "Fu Sheng." Ji Ling asked how she knew Fu Sheng. She said Fu Sheng had taken her in.
Fu Sheng?
That sickly woman who had suddenly moved in next door and coughed twice every three words?
02.
The first time I saw Fu Sheng, she was sitting in a wheelchair, raising a hand to catch a plum blossom petal.
Later, I asked her why she used a wheelchair when her legs were perfectly fine.
She said it was comfortable.
Besides, she'd spent the last fifty years sitting down, and if she could sit, she certainly wasn't going to stand.
She said the last part so casually, as if she were making it up on the spot.
So I finally laughed and asked her, "You don't even look thirty. Where'd you get fifty years from?"
She laughed too and, just as expected, said, "I made it up."
She said, "I say whatever comes to mind, and you can take it however you like."
I didn't notice that when she said it, she kept her eyes closed a little too long, leaving only the briefest gaps between blinks.
It was as if she had wanted to say something more, but ultimately swallowed it back down.
-
Only later did I realize she hadn't been making it up.
I was the one who had forgotten her.
★ The main story is told in third person; the plot is entirely fictional.
★ A taciturn, aloof, devoted younger woman x a gentle, sickly older woman who doesn't always make sense when she talks
★ Rekindled love, past and present lives. Mostly set in modern times, with occasional flashbacks to their past life.
★ It's good, I promise.
★ See my profile for the upcoming book: After Switching Bodies with the Cold Demon Lord
★ A troublemaking, cat-and-dog-loving immortal x a cold Demon Lord who can't get through half a sentence with anyone
★ 1v1, hilarious romantic comedy
During their final battle, the immortal and the Demon Lord switched bodies.
The immortal ended up in the Demon Lord's body, and the Demon Lord in the immortal's.
The immortal and the Demon Lord: ...
The immortal, Ji Wuxin, was at a loss for words. "At this point, you go back to the Immortal Realm in my place, and I'll hold down the fort in the Demon Realm for you. You can't keep a straight face all the time. You need to smile and talk more, or they'll notice something's wrong."
Wearing Ji Wuxin's face, the Demon Lord gave a cool nod.
Ji Wuxin: ...I can already tell this is going to be a disaster.
Everyone in the Immortal Realm: Why has the immortal been acting so strange lately...?
Everyone in the Demon Realm: Why has the Demon Lord been acting so... wicked lately...?
-
After switching back, the immortal and the Demon Lord saw how much the Immortal Realm and Demon Realm had changed, had a huge fight, and parted on bad terms.
Ji Wuxin trudged back to her palace, shut her doors to visitors, and spent three days drinking herself into a stupor on Immortal's Brew. Then she suddenly heard a knock at the door.
She got up and went outside, where she saw someone kneeling on the glazed steps.
"I haven't seen your face in three days, immortal. I've missed you terribly."
The usually aloof Demon Lord, Jing Yu, raised her head and softened her voice for the first time in her life. "Please, Immortal, have mercy. Don't abandon me."
Theme: To be added.
I am here to read a new article again. The theme of this book is very interesting. I look forward to the update [Lop-eared Rabbit Head].
Why hasn't it been updated? The article is very nice.
Baby Ah Shi writes slowly! Guaranteed quality readers will always be waiting for you!
I saw the copywriting said that Gao Lengling only received his soul in the tenth year of his career, but this is only the sixth year. Hey, do these two things have to be stretched for four years?
