As a longtime top performer in the transmigrate-into-a-book bureau, Shi Yi has earned an early retirement.
Retired employees can choose any book world from the transmigration System library as their permanent home, and pick an existing "empty shell character" in that world to inhabit.
After working like a beast of burden for so long, Shi Yi hopes to live as a carefree, happy, simple human in his new world.
Shi Yi: "The character you pick for me needs to come from a harmonious family."
No gambling dad, critically ill mom, dropout little brother, and broken-hearted me, please.
Shi Yi: "The family needs to be well-off, rich enough that I can lie flat and never work again."
Exactly. If he has no money there, won't he still have to work?
Shi Yi: "And keep my social circle simple. Even better if I can avoid all the social obligations and complications."
That's the trouble with human society. There's so much to consider when dealing with people.
Shi Yi thought he might be asking for a bit much and was just about to say, "Never mind that last part."
But the library administrator replied with confidence, "No problem."

Shi Yi: "???"
I'm going already? Could you at least tell me what kind of identity it is? Hey!
(*⊙_⊙*)
And then he transmigrated into a little fool.
In Lijiang City, everyone knew that the young master of the prestigious Shi family was a born idiot.
Because of his status as the Shi family's young master, no one dared to bully the little fool outright.
But plenty of people treated him as a source of amusement behind his back, pitying him, sneering at him, or laughing at him.
"Look at that vacant expression! You could untie his shoelaces and he wouldn't know how to tie them again!"
"He might even trip over them. Can someone with a screw loose even walk straight?"
"He carries that candy tin around all day. What a moron!"
"Let's toss his candy tin away. Think the idiot will roll around on the ground crying?"
"Hahahaha! If he weren't born into the Shi family, he'd have been our plaything by now."
"If they could have such an idiot, that eldest young master of the Shi family must have something wrong with him too."
On the second-floor balcony, Shi Yi had heard every word.
Shi Yi: "..."
The newly minted "idiot" fell silent for two seconds, then turned and grabbed a basin of water to dump on them.
Screams erupted from the garden below as the men and women scattered in chaos.
They glared up in fury, but the little fool upstairs only laughed stupidly, his laughter sending a chill down their spines.
Shi Yi adapted well to his identity as a "little fool."
Every day, he played dumb and slacked off, viewing the foolish upper class through an idiot's eyes. Now and then, he took care of a few bullies who picked on the weak, and life was delightful.
Just as he'd decided there was nothing wrong with spending his whole life single while keeping up the fool act, he noticed that his extremely doting big brother...
Was starting to look at him in a very strange way.
What kind of good big brother steals a kiss while his little brother is drunk?!
"Shi Huaiche! Have you lost your mind?"
Ignoring the young man's resistance, the man pinned his hands above his head and bent down to bite his lips as punishment.
Shi Huaiche: "Why did you stop pretending to be an idiot?"
Shi Yi: "..."
Nobody told him that acting crazy and playing dumb could win someone over!
[Warmhearted bottom, letting loose beneath his fool's disguise] vs. [Scheming CEO top with an extreme little-brother complex and an overwhelming possessive streak]
Reader's guide:
1. Both are emotionally and physically inexperienced. One-on-one, both are each other's first and only.
2. The brothers are not related by blood. Shi Yi was adopted, and their adoption relationship will be legally ended when they reach adulthood.
3. "Empty shell character": A background character preconfigured in a book world but not yet activated. They lack a central consciousness and exist to keep the world's structure stable. After Shi Yi transmigrates into one, he effectively activates that "empty shell character."
