Penelope-Bobby Drake loves her little brother Timothy, or at least she used to. Until the kid turned ten and got way too interested in detective stories and criminal investigations.
After one too many nights watching crime documentaries with her little brother and being too scared to sleep, Bobby dumped him on the Waynes next door. Damian liked her brother anyway, so he could just raise him!
Timothy: I know your secret identity, and I know you like my sister. Train me to be your sidekick, and I'll help you win her over. Deal?
Damian: Sidekick, yes. Wingman, no. Come over at six tonight. Don't be late.
When Bobby is nine, her biggest problems are how to teach the bad-tempered neighbor next door to ballroom dance, how to listen to him without getting mad, and how to pet Damian's dog every day.
When Bobby is fifteen, her biggest problems are: Does my childhood friend have a secret? Does my little brother have a secret? Why does Tim keep going over to the Waynes' every few days? Whose brother are you, anyway?
When Bobby is twenty-two, her biggest problems are: Why does my childhood friend, who already has two new little brothers, still keep trying to steal mine? His new little brother is so cute. Can I keep him for a few days?
One week after arriving in Gotham, ten-year-old Damian says he doesn't need friends. Becoming friends with the Drakes next door is only something his father asked him to do. He sees it as a challenge, a human research project, just a way to prove he can tame a childish little girl and her brother who thinks he's clever.
One month after arriving in Gotham, Damian realizes that Drake doesn't like dancing, yet still goes to her dance lessons on time. This poor creature only knows how to please adults, to the point of losing herself. Damian thinks he can change her.
One year after arriving in Gotham, Damian thinks his relationship with Penelope has improved a great deal. He asks Penelope who her favorite friend is. She answers: Ace.
Four years after arriving in Gotham, Damian takes over dealing with Bobby's troublesome little brother because she doesn't want to watch those terrifying crime shows with Tim. Since he likes Bobby, he decides he can tolerate Timothy. The kid really is smart, a little frighteningly so. How did he figure out Batman and Gray Ghost's real identities?
Seven years after arriving in Gotham, Damian hugs Bobby for the first time and makes what he considers an incredibly foolish vow: I'll always be by your side.
Ten years after arriving in Gotham. The Batmobile's tires have been stolen. Tch.
Reverse courtship / childhood sweethearts / unless something goes wrong, the story will follow them from childhood to adulthood.
It's basically a bickering romantic comedy. To hell with the plot and the villains.
Theme: Childhood sweethearts, innocent young love
