The Tyrant Who Slaughtered My Family Has Ascended the Throne

The bad news: The tyrant who slaughtered my entire family has ascended the throne.

The worse news: He says I’m his child.

Bai Yining has just turned three. He hasn’t enjoyed his parents’ affection for long when his clan is sentenced to execution because the clan leader backed the wrong side.

Adult men are beheaded, while young children are sent to the palace. Naturally, Bai Yining is sent there as a potential palace servant.

He’s not even as tall as a tea table, yet he has to learn how to serve tea. Fortunately, the “tyrant” has neither wife nor children, so life isn’t too hard.

Then, three years later, the little Bai Yining is dragged away, dressed in fine silks, and named crown prince.

He asks in his naivety: “Can I stop making tea now that I’m crown prince?”

Chu Yan is very satisfied with his reign. Although after his death, the decline of the imperial clan throws the dynasty into chaos, and the unrest lasts for hundreds of years.

He had a child, he once thought in the middle of the night.

But Chu Yan severed his bond with that child with his own hands, driving him to stake everything on one desperate act: with a blunt dagger, the child tried to take Chu Yan down with him.

Before he could get close, a guard ran him through with a sword.

In the end, Chu Yan met the child’s resentful gaze.

After being reborn, the only thing Chu Yan looks forward to is the child’s “assassination” attempt.

For that purpose, he restores Bai Yining’s true identity, names him crown prince, installs him in the Eastern Palace, and grants him absolute power.

The history books say: “Emperor Mi was brutal in his conduct and made liberal use of cruel punishments, leaving every official in fear. Later, he named the Crown Prince Duanyi. Emperor Mi changed his ways and seemed full of remorse: If there must be retribution, let my child be spared.”
