The White Bird Hidden in the World

Amid the dimming lights, where white birds pass, ten thousand feathers descend...

(Daughter of a general whose family was slaughtered vs. an ancient high god)

Demons run rampant, immortals ascend. Those who see the white bird will enjoy a lifetime of good fortune.

Ju Shuyu was once the daughter of a wealthy family in the capital. After a plot against her led to her family's destruction, she was lucky to escape with her life. She later hid her identity and worked as a maid in the Zhu household, taking the name "Zhu Chu."

One day, news arrived from the capital: the white bird totem on the Classic of Mountains and Seas map had lit up. Everyone eagerly awaited the white bird's appearance, hoping to receive its blessing. The news also stirred the people of the Immortal Realm.

Wutong Mountain was the earthly residence of the Immortal Realm's high immortals. Every three years, it recruited the finest disciples to collect the totems of the Classic of Mountains and Seas and expand the Immortal Realm's influence. After learning that the white bird had appeared, it immediately opened the mountain to clear a path for the disciples entering the competition, determined to claim the bird.

Zhu Chu passed the trials and became a disciple under Immortal Venerable Jian Wuheng, residing on "Wushan."

Few people were chosen by Jian Wuheng, and this made others jealous and hostile toward her. Whether she went on missions or trained in her daily life, she drew the displeasure of her senior brothers and sisters. With no other choice, she was forced to remain confined to the mountain and could not leave without permission.

Fortunately, Jian Wuheng also preferred not to leave the mountain. He spent every day training his disciple, and the two gradually fell for each other.

But for some reason, baleful energy appeared in the mortal world, turning into demons that preyed on the people. During a mission, Zhu Chu requested reinforcements, but that only brought trouble down on her. Whenever she reached a place where the baleful energy had appeared, it was absorbed into her body.

Seeing this, Jian Wuheng seized her and took her back to Wushan, locking her in the immortal prison and interrogating her, heedless of their former bond as master and disciple.

Zhu Chu burst into tears. "Master, you don't believe me?"

Jian Wuheng replied without expression, "Baleful energy. Absorbing it is beneficial to evil cultivators, greatly enhancing their cultivation."

Hearing this, Zhu Chu could only laugh at the absurdity. She was a mere mortal. How could she be a demon?

Gradually, everyone forgot her.

One night, the white bird appeared. White feathers fell from the dark sky as it absorbed the baleful energy of the world into itself, then vanished from existence.

Only later did people understand: the white bird's purpose was to absorb baleful energy, which came from the resentment and jealousy in people's hearts. From then on, the Classic of Mountains and Seas totems had one more white bird among them.

The white bird returned to its place, but a wanderer was left behind between the mortal world and the Immortal Realm.
