Cold, aloof, dark-hearted bottom & old sleazebag pretending to be a normal guy top
Song Xie’s husband was coming home from a business trip today. Song Xie stopped by the supermarket, picked out some of his favorite foods, and carried them home.
A thick fog blew in on the wind, nearly making Song Xie lose his way.
Luckily, Song Xie found his front door.
*
Song Xie had only just set down his bags when someone knocked.
He opened the door, but there was no one outside.
The hallway lights turned into a rust-red tablecloth. Before Song Xie’s eyes, the brand-new hallway became a battered, old attic.
A door appeared out of nowhere on the wall beside him, and someone knocked on it.
From the other side came a woman’s faint, hissing voice: “Dinner is about to be served. Please come downstairs to eat.”
*
Thanks to the castle’s owner, Song Xie remembered his past.
There were things he had to do, and from then on, he frequently left home to “travel.”
*
After completing another instance, Song Xie returned home to find that his newlywed husband had also just gotten off work. His husband gave him a warm hug and smiled tenderly at him. “I’m home. Did you miss me?”
“We’re having sweet-and-sour ribs today. Let’s have fish with pickled cabbage tomorrow.”
Song Xie ran a finger over the thin layer of dust on the table, then raised his hand to put an arm around his husband’s broad shoulders. He smiled sweetly. “Sounds good.”
After dinner, they spent the night being affectionate.
Watching his husband’s sleeping face, Song Xie thought expressionlessly:
I can’t let him find out. It’d be bad if I scared him.
Lu Kai’s perspective:
On the surface, Lu Kai was the heir to a company. In reality, he worked behind the scenes to maintain world peace, entering abnormal worlds unknown to the public whenever necessary.
He had been married for two months and was extremely happy with married life. Bound by a confidentiality agreement, Lu Kai had not told his little husband the truth.
Recently, however, Lu Kai had noticed that his little husband had suddenly become extremely fond of traveling.
He would often take off to some far-flung place without a word, ignore Lu Kai’s messages, then come home on his own a couple of days later.
Lu Kai couldn’t figure out what had gone wrong between them. His little husband always said he loved him.
After a while spent testing the waters, Lu Kai still had no answers.
*
The abnormal zones were expanding, and Lu Kai’s work was getting busier. For the sake of harmony at home, he kept it to himself for the time being and lied to his little husband, saying he was going on a business trip.
*
One day, Lu Kai suddenly received word that an enormous energy fluctuation had appeared at a shopping mall. If it wasn’t dealt with properly, the resulting explosion would level Haishi.
Lu Kai hurriedly led his team there, calling his little husband nonstop and telling him to stay away from the mall when he came home.
After enduring countless hardships to escape a massive instance, Lu Kai watched the enormous ball of energy hovering above the mall suddenly vanish. The crisis was over.
Lu Kai and his little husband, who had just opened the mall’s emergency exit, stared at each other.
His little husband lowered his eyes modestly, as obedient as ever. Lu Kai sensed something was wrong and quickly dodged. A silver needle embedded itself deep in the wall behind him.
Lu Kai slowly turned around, but his little husband was already gone.
The good news: his little husband was completely safe.
The bad news: his little husband seemed to be an “Other.”
① Smith husbands trope. The instances and real world are split 50/50.
② One-on-one romance, mutual pampering.
