I'm Takizawa Kagezuki, from Kansai.
This year, my adventurer uncle finally had enough and forced me to move to my father's hometown in Kanagawa. There, I met the entire Sanada family, who looked at me with deep sympathy.
I didn't feel much about it, until I glanced at the mature-looking nephew beside them.
Takizawa Kagezuki: “...”
Nephew, what happened to your youth? How did you become so... well, so manly?
“Go on, call him Uncle, Genichiro.”
At his grandfather's urging, Sanada Genichiro stood beside him, his expression complicated beneath the brim of his cap. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but in the end he managed only one word: “...Uncle.”
Takizawa Kagezuki glanced at him, then at Grandpa Sanada, whose face was beaming with satisfaction. He fell silent for two seconds.
“Mm.”
Little snippet 1
How the Rikkai team sees Takizawa Kagezuki:
First impression: A cool, gloomy junior.
A long-haired boy stood beside Sanada, with a round-headed robot sitting on his shoulder and waving enthusiastically at them. “Hello! Hello!” The boy himself was expressionless, his eyelids drooping as if he might fall asleep on the spot at any moment.
Marui Bunta waved enthusiastically. “Hi there! Sanada's little brother.”
Takizawa Kagezuki kept his head down and didn't hear him.
He was extremely grumpy when woken up. This morning, he'd stubbornly left his hearing aid on the bedside table, and now he was bored, counting ants on the ground: one, two... When he got to the seventh, the ant turned a corner. He frowned and started counting from the beginning.
Marui Bunta's hand hung awkwardly in the air before he slowly lowered it and leaned close to Sanada's ear. “Sanada, your little brother is so aloof.”
Sanada Genichiro was silent.
He didn't know how to explain to his teammate that this wasn't his younger brother, but his uncle.
The robot on the boy's shoulder kept waving enthusiastically. “Hello! Hello! Pleased to meet you!”
Yukimura has had an online friend for three years, a gifted violinist.
Though they'd never met, they shared the things that happened to them every day, and their relationship grew increasingly close and relaxed.
Then, one day, he lost contact with the other person.
After a week of worry, he received a message from them: “Seiichi, I'm so tired. I really want to go down there and be with them.”
He understood what those words meant, and guessed what had happened. He didn't dare ask for details. All he could do was comfort and stay with them as best he could, then ask if they could meet in person, only to be refused.
Over the following year, they were in touch only now and then.
Just when he didn't know what else to do about his friend, his good friend Genichiro brought a boy to meet him. Though they'd never met and the boy had become gloomy, he recognized him by the round-headed robot.
Looking at the boy, who seemed steeped in gloom, he could think of only one thing:
I finally got to meet you!
