After bringing the sentinel home, the guide was pinned down in bed in the middle of the night for their initial bonding. In the darkness, he met the sentinel's glowing green, snake-like eyes. Cold scales slid across the guide's palm.
Guanyue Xi: "Holy shit."
After their permanent bond:
An extremely long, supple snake tail wrapped around the guide's waist, cold and slick as it slowly tightened... The guide promptly switched off the sentinel's vision. The sentinel didn't say a word and just kept going.
Guanyue Xi, breathless, cursed, "I-I turned off your vision, not your hearing. Why are you pretending to be deaf!"
