The World's Most Protective Master in the Nine Realms

The Goddess Fu Yao guarded Xueyue River, the prison of the immortal realm.

Until one day, she met an unusual immortal criminal.

He was refined and gentle, his every word and gesture warm and gracious. It was impossible to tell what crime he had committed. Yet he cheerfully spoke to Fu Yao as if they were old friends, unfazed by her icy manner.

Fu Yao had gone so long without contact with others that she wanted nothing to do with him, but she could not fend off his constant greetings.

Before the criminal vanished, Fu Xie heard him say, "You disobedient disciple, why have you still not come home?"

In an instant, the heavens and earth changed color, and Fu Xie finally remembered.

She had never been a goddess. She was the sinner imprisoned here for all eternity.

She and her master were both certifiable lunatics.

One defied the Heavenly Dao, forcibly carving spiritual awareness into lifeless things. The other betrayed her master and ancestors, stole her sect's treasure, and became a demonic cultivator.

Yet whenever Fu Yao woke with a start in the night, she could always recall what her master often said: "The heart of the Heavenly Dao is a dead thing. If you dare set the world in motion, I can go, and so can my disciple."

With a master so unorthodox, perhaps it was only natural that she coveted him.

Fu Yao, now a demonic cultivator, stared without a trace of restraint at the otherworldly immortal in the mirror, her eyes bloodshot. She murmured, "You were the one who taught me this."
