① The Li and Shang families have been close friends for generations. The Li family is in the civil service, while the Shang family is in business.

The Shang family has two sons. The eldest, Shang Fuyan, is outstanding in every way. He took over the family business as soon as he graduated. He treats people with warmth and courtesy, yet can be ruthless in business, making him difficult to read.
