Legend says that in the Ars Goetia, a book of magic compiled by King Solomon, he recorded making pacts with seventy-two demons and engraving their names upon seventy-two pillars.
Ding
A text message came in. It was spam, inviting her to join some kind of demon pact.
Cui Tingchao thought it looked like some new kind of scam and casually replied: Unsubscribe.
The scene around her changed abruptly. It was as if the world had been paused, and a pillar of light suddenly blazed from her phone.
A distant, mechanical voice sounded in her ear.
[Congratulations. You are now the sole agent of Carabia. Your sequence number is 69, and your faction is "Summoner." A demon pact will now be made on your behalf.]
Pact rules:
[Players in the same faction cannot kill one another. There are no restrictions on abilities or methods between players from different factions.]
[You may not use forbidden items beyond the abilities of your contracted demon.]
[There can be no more than two genuine treasure chests in each instance.]
[Collect treasure chests to raise your contracted demon's sequence as much as possible.]
[Friendly reminder: relationships between demons are especially important.]
Additional instance rules:
[Under a full moon or blue moon, "Scholars" and "Summoners" receive a full-strength bonus. Under a red moon, they receive a weakened debuff.]
[Except on sunny days, "Harbingers of Calamity" can hide in the shadows and receive a full-strength bonus. On sunny days, they receive a weakened debuff.]
["Treasure Hunters" always have the keen eyesight of an eagle.]
["Oracle's Gaze" can use its contracted demon's ability only once per day.]
["Secularists" receive a full-strength bonus at night and a weakened debuff during the day.]
[Friendly reminder: Rabbits don't lie, gems aren't purple, and Secularists don't have keys.]
