The Idol Girl and Itadori-kun

On the eve of Haruori's transfer to middle school, she meets someone. A curse trips him on a long staircase, and he lands perfectly right in front of her.

She doesn't remember anything else. She only remembers that his emotional aura glowed a brilliant gold, so dazzling she couldn't see past it. He was like the sun.

After transferring, Haruori becomes his classmate.

He's a good person. He gives her his math test paper.

Haruori looks down at the red check marks all over it. He's not very good at science, but he's still a kindhearted person.

He carefully asks her, "If I'm going to exercise, would it be okay if we did it together?"

The park is a public place, not her home. Haruori doesn't mind and nods.

He seems very happy, and his emotional aura stands out all the more.

Haruori calmly plucks away the puppy-like emotional aura that leaps toward her, murmuring, "Happy, like."

And so

Every morning, Haruori sees a pink head in the park, waiting there without fail, always arriving one step before her.

He shares the cookies he made in home economics class with her. In return, Haruori gives him half of hers, two kinds of cookies: spicy and sweet.

He invites her to hang out during the holidays.

When she returns after taking a month off, he tells her, "I missed you so much, Haruori."

During finals week, they make plans to study together.

He can cook, too, and his food is delicious.

Haruori thinks: This must be the kind of friend Oda Sakunosuke was talking about.

But it seems he doesn't want to be her friend. The pink in his emotional aura grows deeper and overwhelms its original golden color.

He says, "Haruori, I like you."

Before she understands how she feels about him, he confesses to her.

She can't give him an answer.

But the next day, the boy standing outside her window is bathed in sunlight, his gaze fixed on her, warm yet timid.

Haruori's heart stirs. "Itadori, would you like to date me?"

She thinks she must like him, because seeing him always makes her happy, and she doesn't want to see him sad.
