Ascend to Earth and Make Games

I've been sick for a long time because of my poor health, and my outline is completely stuck. I won't be able to start a new story in July. The exact date is unknown.

Chi Yixuan transmigrated to a dark version of the cultivation world. After countless hardships, he finally ascended back to Earth.

Home sweet home. Everyone believes in science, and at last he can enjoy a relaxed, carefree retirement.

But as soon as he steps outside, he... doesn't dare open his eyes, hoping it's all an illusion.

Why are there bizarre creatures in the sky, on the ground, in the lake, and even in his toilet?

"Huh? He seems to be able to see us." A few strange creatures lounging in his bathtub exchanged glances and loudly plotted, "Let's turn into Cthulhu and scare him!"

Chi Yixuan: ...

He bundled the strange creatures up and tossed them into his game.

Earth's spiritual energy had long since dried up, and the monsters were terribly lonely. Human spirituality had been dwindling, and fewer and fewer people could see them. They'd lost so much of the fun in life.

Then one day, a terrifying pyramid scheme appeared in the monster world. They said it spread like a virus: once you got in, you couldn't get out. You'd be dragged into a game to work as an NPC, doing hard labor for free, while human players treated you like a toy.

Even worse, once the monsters stepped inside, they'd be brainwashed and start dragging their friends and family into the trap.

How terrifying! Truly terrifying!

But as far as the game's NPCs, who were actually monsters, were concerned, working in the game was so much fun that they wanted to be NPCs again in their next life!

In 2034, Xuan You Studio burst onto the scene, taking the internet by storm with a relaxing, feel-good little game. From then on, it released a new hit every year, rapidly growing from an obscure little studio into an industry leader.

Players cursed out the boss, Chi Yixuan, for taking their money, even as they poured cash into the games. Yet come the end of the year, Xuan You Studio still monopolized the top spot on the charts.

The industry calls this the Chi Yixuan Effect.

They say Chi Yixuan is downright uncanny: anyone who goes against him suffers inexplicable bad luck. More than once, industry insiders have spoken up to accuse him of keeping a little ghost to torment his competitors. But players say they curse out Boss Chi every day. Sure, their wallets take a hit, but they gain happiness and joy, so overall, it's still a good deal. They support Boss Chi in growing bigger and stronger.
