Wei Zhiqian, a top-tier power-leveling player, gets a strange job offer.

The client offers a sky-high fee, but has one unusual request:

“Can you pretend to be the original account owner?”

Former national-server king of the casual players, Wei Zhiqian: “? I am the original account owner!”

The wealthy client, typing: “Exactly.”

Wei Zhiqian: “??”

Two weeks later, he logs into the account again.

The former number-one assassin on the national server has switched to support.

Support, but with carry-level damage.

This mysterious and generous client is strange, too.

His gameplay is average, but his game sense is top-notch.

He can clearly speak, but always chats by typing.

Wei Zhiqian assumes he’s a serious introvert.

That is, until he logs into his long-neglected Penguin account and finds a familiar, aloof client in his friend requests, along with a series of messages.

Wei Zhiqian has just started becoming interested in him when he suddenly realizes the truth.

That immediately piques his interest. Today, he sends the guy a suggestive daily-life photo showing off his physique. Tomorrow, he takes him to a valley full of flowers to complete a hidden achievement.

His guiding principle is simple: flirt.

When the introverted client finally brings up the keyboard and types, “You’re amazing,”

Wei Zhiqian’s competitive spirit kicks in. “Compared to Qianxiao?”

Xia Xingran quietly lowers his head.

“You really are amazing.”

Wei Zhiqian is in a great mood, completely unaware that the other man has changed the subject.

Xia Xingran’s father thinks his son has been in unusually good spirits lately.

He’s right.

Before the new version launches, Xia Xingran manages to buy back Qianxiao, the national-server account his beloved had sold.

The top-tier power-leveling player he found on the forum has excellent skills, a pleasant voice, and a great personality.

Most importantly, everyone on the forum says:

“He may not be Qianxiao, but his gameplay and personality both remind me of him.”

“He’s really good! He deserves to be called the number-one power-leveling player!”

“If you didn’t know better, you’d think Qianxiao was playing the account himself.”

As a devoted fan, Xia Xingran upgrades to a long-term annual package overnight, asking him to restore the national server’s glory and rack up kill after kill.

The only unexpected turn comes on the day they finally meet in person.

Beside the shopping district, in the lovely afternoon sunshine,

a broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted young man turns around against the light,

bearing the exact same face as the dreamboat character model from the game.

Xia Xingran freezes on the spot: …

Seeing him dazed, the other man takes three quick steps forward,

wraps him in his arms, and ruffles his freshly styled blond hair. “What, only just realized it’s me?”

But he doesn’t forget to take off his baseball cap with his other hand and shield Xia Xingran from the blazing sun overhead

Forced to bury his face against the man’s chest, Xia Xingran blinks and catches the sun-warmed scent filling his embrace. He quietly says,

“Mm…”

“Can you accept my confession now?”

“Okay.”

The thin-limbed little bunny Bai Moning never imagined he would differentiate as an alpha.

He doesn’t even have time to think about what this identity might bring him. He’s too busy surviving, and has to work part-time at a dessert shop after class.

Then a new neighbor, who claims to be an omega, moves into the apartment next door.

Looking at the other man, who is a head taller and has sturdy limbs, then at himself, an alpha, the little bunny feels a bit envious.

The newcomer has big ears and sharp teeth. Paired with the gloom that never leaves his eyes, they make Bai Moning lose all courage to speak with him.

His parents, who live in the distant mountains, have told him since he was little that wolves have pointy ears and big tails, and that if he ever sees one, he must stay away.

So when the two of them are alone together and Bai Moning has nowhere to run, he stammers out:

“Y-you’re a dog, right? My mom said wolves would eat me if they saw me, so you… won’t eat me, right?”

Chu Yunxiu, a purebred wolf, looks at the trembling little bunny before him, and the wintry frost in his eyes finally thaws a little.

“Mm. I won’t eat you.”

The little bunny has always thought this big dog of a man is hard to get along with.

He furrows his brow, looks aloof, and often smokes one cigarette after another on the balcony.

At first, timid little Bai Moning only dares to sneak him some homemade desserts.

Later, he starts working up the courage to pat his head.

The big dog acts like he doesn’t care and looks away.

But the big tail behind him keeps wagging gently.

He’s so happy!

The book says dogs love having their heads patted.

Sure enough! The big dog is just the same!

Bai Moning, who grew up in the distant mountains and never received much education about these things, has never realized what a dangerous situation it is for an alpha like him to be alone in a room with an omega.

When the cool scent of cedar reaches his nose, he can’t help throwing himself into the arms of the “big dog” beside him, breathing heavily and trembling a little.

Seeing the little bunny’s wide eyes already brimming with tears, and breathing in the raspberry scent filling the room, Chu Yunxiu can’t resist gently stroking his head.

“Come to my room…”

As the two of them tumble onto the bed in a jumble, Bai Moning seems to see the tall, broad-shouldered young man beneath him trembling as he roughly pulls off the tie from his chest, revealing his long neck and the faint outline of his chest muscles.

Then he reaches out and gently points to the back of his own neck.

“Good boy, bite here.”

Feeling the other man’s hand begin to wander toward his own collar, the obedient little bunny bites down.

Chu Yunxiu’s perspective

Chu Yunxiu was raised by his family to be their heir, at least until he was sixteen.

At least, until the day Chu Yunxiu differentiated as an omega.

It doesn’t matter. He was never interested in the family’s scheming anyway.

Until the night he was sacrificed for a family alliance and betrothed to an alpha playboy he didn’t know.

Chu Yunxiu fled with his fountain pen, his violin, and the few suppressants he had.

In a cheap shared apartment, Chu Yunxiu meets the little bunny.

The little bunny is very accepting, and quickly comes to terms with the fact that he’s a “dog.”

From trembling a little at first to getting bolder and bolder with those head pats.

Watching the other man grin foolishly, Chu Yunxiu waves his tail helplessly.

Fine. A dog it is.

“…Woof.”
