The complete story is finished. Enjoy reading! (My other book, Only I Can Be Mean to This Disabled General, has started: a female boxer transmigrates into the frail wife of a disabled general.)
Cheng Mu had always been steady and kind, considerate to everyone. Only with Jiang Zhi had she said the cruelest things and done the most ruthless deeds.
After Cheng Mu once again threw everything Jiang Zhi had brought out of the shop and gave him a long, harsh dressing-down, one of the shop's regulars finally couldn't stand it and said, "If you don't like him, you don't have to treat him like this."
Cheng Mu turned and asked coldly, "Did I force him to come?"
With that, Cheng Mu dusted off her hands and glanced at Jiang Zhi, standing at the foot of the steps. He wore a black coat and stood in the snow, his expression inscrutable, but he didn't say a word.
Cheng Mu left Jiang Zhi standing in the snow and turned back to lock up the shop.
She added, "If you don't like it, then stop coming."
Cheng Mu had never believed in Cinderella fairy tales. In her eyes, the prince was only playing around.
She thought the same of Jiang Zhi.
So even when she agreed to Jiang Zhi's three-month trial relationship, she was only deceiving him.
She left without looking back, not a trace left behind.
2.
Deep in the rows of gravestones in the cemetery, Jiang Zhi once came across a young woman.
She wore a white down jacket and a dark green scarf around her neck. Her cheeks were red from the cold, and she was kneeling beside two gravestones.
Through the gap between the gravestones, Jiang Zhi saw the girl raise her head and lean against one of them, weeping as snow fell all around her.
Though she was so far away, that tear seemed to fall straight into his heart.
After that, he could never look away from her again, never let her go.
He loved her with restraint and patience, treading carefully, afraid that he might frighten her away.
Unfortunately, she left in the end, like the wind he could not hold on to no matter how hard he tried.
3.
Five years later, Cheng Mu's mentor fell seriously ill. She returned to visit and found the roads sealed by heavy snow. Xie Yinhe came to pick her up, naturally took her backpack and slung it over his shoulder, and chatted with her with a smile. At the hospital entrance, they happened to run into Jiang Zhi, who was coming out with a bag of medicine.
Jiang Zhi wore a dark gray coat, and his hair was already starting to turn white. His face was exhausted. The moment their eyes met, Jiang Zhi froze, then rubbed his eyes in disbelief.
Cheng Mu's heart began to race. Doing her best to hide her feelings, she linked arms with Xie Yinhe and started to leave.
Jiang Zhi's eyes reddened, tears welling up. His voice was hoarse as he desperately tried to hold back his hurt and sadness.
Just as Cheng Mu coldly brushed past him, he reached out and grabbed her wrist, gritting his teeth as he said:
"Do you think I still want to be your dog, coming whenever you call and leaving whenever you send me away?"
Cheng Mu clenched her fists without thinking. Her emotions stirred, and tears blurred her vision.
Cheng Mu didn't know how desperately Jiang Zhi had missed her during the five years he was without her. It left him with a lifelong illness, setting him on the path to an early death.
Later, when they registered their marriage, Jiang Zhi asked Cheng Mu if she had felt even the slightest stir of affection when she left without a word that year.
Cheng Mu said yes. In fact, she had fallen in love with him even earlier.
4.
Later, in a hospital room in a foreign land, a white wall separated Cheng Mu and Jiang Zhi. Jiang Zhi lay on the hospital bed, eyes peaceful, while Cheng Mu slumped against the cold wall, covering her mouth tightly to keep him from hearing her cries.
The doctor said Jiang Zhi had endured the excruciating pain of electroshock and traded away the rest of his life as he knew it for one lucid year, all to help Cheng Mu fall in love with someone else.
Cheng Mu had pretended to cooperate so convincingly that in the end Jiang Zhi really believed her.
[Love is his impregnable fortress]
[She never cries out in pain, afraid no one will care]
Theme: Love is a talent that can be learned
First time commenting. I really cried when I read the last few chapters. To be honest, I didn't feel anything before the male and female protagonists got together. I even wanted to finish it quickly (Tonic scolded me 555). But after the male protagonist learned that he was sick, I really shed tears in every chapter. I even cried so much that I couldn't help myself (the first time I cried like this after reading so many novels). Cheng Mu and Jiang Zhi must be happy in another world ❤️
It feels very good. Come on, do you want more?
Why don't they fall in love with each other when they are sober. They love each other so much. Why don't they spend the last little time together? The male protagonist is so self-righteous that he didn't realize the love of the female protagonist. I'm sorry. I really want to cry. I think they should not be like this at least. It's so sad. I feel sorry for the male and female protagonist. Both of them are very good. I can only blame fate. I blame the wasted fate. I blame the impermanence of fate. Omg it's still very sad.
Ah ah ah, I like the author's great style of writing, please ask for more updates, I like to read, I love to read
To be honest, being able to analyze a naughty person in such a eloquent way is really impressive. It has a strong sense of immersion and is completely unsatisfactory.
Nice! Update quickly, update more often
After seeing this, I didn't feel how gentle the author was towards the male and female protagonists, but he was very kind to Yang Le, and I was a bit speechless.
Can the author write more sweet stories about daily life? The daily life he writes is so heartwarming. I feel uncomfortable when I think about it.
Reading the synopsis makes me both excited and heartbroken. Is there any extra story about him... Twins or something?
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 The author is finally back
