The Spiky Little Cat Is a Monster

One day, Chu Hualin's owner chose a pretty face over friendship. After getting together with Cheng Shen, he actually left Chu Hualin in Shen Qing's care. This man had once used catnip on him, making him lose all face as a cat. He was absolutely awful.

Shen Qing was a sucker for good looks and liked pretty little cats. A long-haired male calico was so rare; he couldn't pass one up.

"Huahua, I'm your new owner from now on. No more scratching me."

"Meow!" Cats don't work for a living, and I don't want to roam the streets, so I guess I'll have to stay at his place.

Shen Qing had no idea an enormous surprise was waiting for him.

Shen Qing to Chu Hualin: "My cat's missing. Did you steal him? What's wrong with you?"

Chu Hualin: "You're crazy."

Shen Qing to the calico: "Pink paw pads, so cute. So soft. Give me a kiss."

The calico angrily swatted him. "Meow!"

One day, while traveling in the suburbs,

Shen Qing saw Chu Hualin and asked, "What are you doing here too? Don't tell me you're trying to steal my cat again."

Every time this guy showed up, his cat went missing.

Chu Hualin: "Paranoid much?"

One day, Shen Qing's golden retriever passed away of old age.

He locked himself in his room, overcome with grief. Chu Hualin sat outside the door and saw the tear tracks on the man's face. He felt conflicted.

"Meowww~" He went in and rubbed against the man, but the human ignored him.

Shen Qing suddenly hugged the cat tightly, wiped the tears from the corner of his eye, and asked in a low voice, "Huahua... will you leave me someday?"

Chu Hualin answered without thinking, "No."

Then, in an instant, a deathly silence fell.

The cat covered his mouth. Oh no, he had just spoken!

Shen Qing stared at him in horror. "You... y-you-you-you! You just...!?"

"Holy crap!"

"Jiang Zhiqing! Your cat has become a spirit!"

"A cat! The cat can talk!!"

Chu Hualin: "..." A slipup. It was a slipup.

Shen Qing hid downstairs for a whole day. The next day, he opened the door.

He figured he must have been dreaming yesterday. Cats couldn't talk, right? Hahaha.

But then he saw a young man sitting on the bed and immediately shut the door, drawing in a sharp breath.

Had he still not woken up? In the room, it had clearly been his calico cat. So why was there a person there now, and one he knew, at that?

He opened the door again and asked in confusion, "Chu Hualin! What trick are you pulling now? Why are you in my room? Where did you hide my cat?"

Chu Hualin's spiritual power had been unstable lately. He pulled the quilt down from his head, revealing two cat ears that he couldn't retract. "What if I told you... I'm Huahua? Would you believe me?"

"..." He had to be dreaming.

He called his best friend again.

"Jiang Zhiqing! How dare you mess with me!"

This is a spin-off about the secondary couple from Raising a Hamster That Turned into a Human. Shen Qing, seme x Chu Hualin, uke.

Sweet romance / one-on-one / both inexperienced and devoted / first love / happy ending / the cat can switch between two forms.

(Male calicos do exist; you can look it up. In this story, the cat is neutered, so his human form is normal.)

2. The seme's parents are from the countryside and don't approve of the two of them being together. By the final bonus chapter, they've accepted the relationship. The seme's mother also has a mental illness, but she gets better. The parents are written in a fairly realistic way.]
