Trying out a new blurb:
Three hundred years ago, the terror of the immortal sects' bloodbath swept across the Four Seas and Thirteen Provinces. Ever since, there have been no immortals in the world beyond the Star Pavilion.
In the nineteenth year of the Heng'an era, the Dao had withered and immortals had fallen. The Star Pavilion had been secluded from the world for sixty years, and urgently needed a grandmaster of martial arts to take over as Celestial Master. Yet no one beyond the mountains knew the truth.
Chu Yao, young mistress of the Star Pavilion, was exceptionally gifted and dazzlingly brilliant. At nineteen, she had already reached the threshold of grandmaster, making her unquestionably the greatest among the younger generation. The Pavilion's disciples were often frustrated that the world knew nothing of her renown.
Until a secret letter from the imperial family forced the Star Pavilion to emerge ahead of schedule.
Chu Yao secretly descended the mountain, but word of it spread like wildfire. As she investigated the truth, she gradually discovered that someone had set a deadly trap for her.
And beneath that trap lurked an even more terrifying conspiracy.
-
Before Chu Yao had a chance to make a name for herself, a man had already set his sights on her.
Po Jun, the foremost assassin of Fuying, the number one assassin organization in the jianghu.
So she disguised herself as a man and even came up with absurd stories like, "I'm my own fiancee," and, "We look alike because we have a married couple's face."
He believed her.
He really believed her.
So why did he still figure it out in the end?!
And so, Po Jun became impossible for Chu Yao to shake off.
She said, "I like obedient dogs."
The ruthless head of Fuying looked more lost and helpless than ever before.
Just as Chu Yao finally breathed a sigh of relief, a bark rang out beside her, without warning.
"Woof."
At first, Chu Yao thought she had simply acquired a dog that wouldn't bite.
Later, she discovered that this "Po Jun Blade" was surprisingly useful, sharp and ready for action, following her orders to the letter as they braved snowstorms and cut down the wicked.
-
Chu Yao was ambushed by a grandmaster and went missing.
When her fellow disciples from the Star Pavilion found her, they discovered she and Po Jun had gotten together and were even sharing a bed at night.
Po Jun said, "We've always slept together."
Her fellow disciple stared at him in shock. "Hello, are you even speaking Chinese?"
Then they turned around and saw the two of them kissing.
They were confused, stunned, and completely lost it.
"Just how far have they gotten?!"
1. A light ensemble cast, plot-focused, 1v1, HE. She disguises herself as a man early on; the male lead appears infrequently at first. Love grows over time x love at first sight.
2. The setting is fictional, though mostly inspired by the Han dynasty. There are many original details, and the specifics are not historically verifiable.
3. The title comes from the line "The low-lying land makes the river seem ready to swallow the mountains" in Tao Bi's "Bixiang Gate," but does not use the poem's original meaning.
Theme: Follow the natural way
