This novel is complete. My new novel, The Trails of Mount Olympus [Figure Skating], is now underway. If you're passing by, don't miss it!
Maggie dated a jealous man.
In a nutshell, if any man showed up beside her, he'd start suspecting something.
He was like that before they broke up, and he was like that afterward, too.
Even if he cursed her to go to hell, he'd be jealous of every male ghost down there.
He was sensitive, suspicious, obsessive, and insecure, and he made unreasonable scenes so often that Maggie was constantly troubled by him.
Maggie could live comfortably without him.
All she had to do was ignore the raging jealousy in those gray-green eyes.
Maggie and Clift fell for each other at first sight.
She was beautiful and young, with only one flaw: she was poor.
Clift was rich and strong, with only one flaw: he came from a lowly background.
They were made for each other, and nothing could tear them apart.
Clift believed Maggie's nonsense time and again.
She wouldn't accept his proposal. He could put up with that.
She chatted and laughed with that blond young man named Enjolras at a party. He could put up with that.
She sweet-talked him to save that reckless kid named Pierre. He could put up with that.
She threw him in prison without a second thought to save a fugitive named Madeleine, ruining decades of his hard work.
He couldn't take it anymore. His eyes flew open, and at last he saw the true face of that wicked woman.
He gritted his teeth and swallowed his pain, suffering through countless sleepless nights while thinking of tearing her limb from limb.
Later, he searched for her like a madman, hating her for having the heart to vanish without a trace.
Until the day the barricades came under a storm of gunfire. Bullets exploded behind Maggie, and her bright red skirt blossomed like blood spilled across the ground.
Clift's eyes widened in horror. He felt his heart shatter in an instant.
He couldn't bear it.
A thorny rose vs. an insecure, gloomy ghost
P.S. The leads are original characters, and neither of them is a perfectly good person.
P.P.S. I'll try to follow the original plot and characterizations, but there may be a little OOC behavior.
P.P.P.S. You don't need to have read the book to enjoy this novel's romance. For everything else, knowing the character names is enough. (Just kidding.) This novel has no barrier to entry.
Upcoming Novel
Next up: The Duchess's Thousand-Layered Schemes
Cecilia thinks her stepbrother is an unwanted dog. Her stepmother ignores him, and the servants bully him.
Taking pity on him, she showers him with concern and care, watching with satisfaction as the stubborn boy lowers himself for her.
Unfortunately, she's about to be married off to a foreign land. That makes her so very sad.
She gazes at her brooding stepbrother with tearful eyes. "I don't want to leave... Brother, I know you have feelings for me."
The young man looks up at her, the fire in his eyes almost consuming her.
As expected, she receives news of her father's death and returns home for the funeral.
The castle has changed. They say a mad wolf has appeared and is committing all manner of evil, while the young duke who inherited the title is fighting the beast.
He hurries back when he hears the news, his green eyes kind yet distant. "My dear sister, you're finally home."
On a dark and stormy night, Cecilia slips away from the duke and climbs to the very top of the castle. A faint green light glimmers inside a stained-glass display case. It's the precious legacy her father left behind.
She approaches the case, but it's empty.
Cecilia turns around. A pair of wolf-green eyes gaze at her, burning with passion.
Then it grabs her around the waist in its jaws.
Cecilia: "..." Brother, you act one way in public and another in private. Did you really think I didn't know what you really are?
Sith believes their relationship is improper and without legitimacy. He sincerely hopes Heaven will forgive their sins.
The day their secret is exposed, he calmly faces her furious father, the duke.
"I was the one who seduced her. It was me, my lord."
Then he personally sends her father to Heaven, telling him his daughter knew nothing about it and asking him not to report them to God.
He schemes and labors with all his might, finally making it possible for Cecilia to return to his side openly.
Only when a silver arrow pierces his body does he realize Cecilia wants more than just him.
The beautiful dream woven from sweet words vanishes in an instant, and the light in Sith's green eyes dims little by little.
"Cecilia, surely you're satisfied now?"
Cecilia: Huh? Are you talking about me?
She says coldly, "Was I the one who seduced you? Was I the one who insisted you do all this? No, I never said that."
Her voice suddenly turns gentle. "You can't blame me, Sith. You were the one who kept the truth from me. You're not even human."
A crazy mishmash of fairy tales and mythology.
Maybe the novel after next: [Figure Skating] Drawing a Laurel on the Ice
At the national championships, She Sui takes a commanding lead in the short program.
The next day, she bombs her free skate and falls off the podium, missing out on international competition.
Just as she leaves the arena, a gray car rushes toward her without slowing down. Time seems to stretch, and her mind goes blank.
Before she loses consciousness, she sees a handsome face bleeding from all seven orifices.
That guy looks familiar, she thinks hazily.
When she opens her eyes again, she's in the warm-up room, and she's the last skater in the next group.
Theme: True love never dies
Ah Adam, I hope your hard work pays off and I hope you return safely.
This is the end, I haven't seen enough of the heroine's emotional line 😭
In 1840, it suddenly became very heavy. I'm a bit self-deceptive and lucky. The Eight-Nation Allied Forces are in 1900. Even if my beloved Enjolras survives, he will not become an enemy.
I'm angry again 🐶, be careful of nodules [cover your face and peek]
What a primary school chick falling in love 😂
Give Clift and Maggie a happy ending!
He actually still looks forward to the day when Javert is alive. . . . Mixed mood
Why stop here!! (Screaming) (crawling around) (keeps screaming)
Let some more men serve the heroine. Where did Adam die? Come back to the sea of death. Alas, poor heroine.
I jumped directly to the ending to see the beginning and the end, but the emotional line seems to have no clear ending, or am I not understanding it? Are they together? Or is it an op ending?
