Yu Sui learned figure skating purely because of her mother.
In the free skate at a club league competition, she made a mess of her performance and fell off the podium, missing out on the Junior Grand Prix.
On the dazed journey home, a gray car came hurtling toward her without slowing down at all.
When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in the warm-up room. She was the last person in the next group.
...This is bad.
This time, if she fell apart again, she would be letting Heaven down.
She couldn't accept failure.
Later, she skated for the slowly rising red flag.
And in the end, she couldn't bear to leave the ice.
There was sweat, tears, and pain on it;
but there were also flowers, cheers, and friendship;
and the courage of humanity, powerful enough to overcome even the Olympic flame.
Romance blurb:
Yu Sui's first relationship ended without a word. They were both too young back then to tell who was right or wrong.
After her first Olympics, she hit the lowest point of her life. Growth and injuries came crashing down on her. The night before surgery, Qi Ju gently kissed her hair and said, “The wind blows over the mountain ridge, and though it darkens, it will brighten again.”
In a daze, Yu Sui felt she had heard those words before, yet something about them seemed a little off.
She looked up to see her father, who had come to visit, smiling awkwardly. Behind him stood her first love, whom she hadn't seen in four years, dressed in a suit and looking calm.
Yu Sui remembered. On the eve of the Olympics four years ago, she had suffered a serious injury. Just as she was losing heart, the usually steady and cautious man climbed through her window in the middle of the night and said to her,
“The sea bends the bamboo low, but it rises again. The wind blows over the mountain ridge, and though it darkens, it will brighten again.”
She didn't really understand the flowery language, but she clearly remembered another thing he said as he gently rubbed her waist, his breath brushing against her ear: “Life isn't defined by skating. You still have a long life ahead of you.”
Qi Ju went out with her father to discuss something, leaving only him in the hospital room.
He seemed much colder than she remembered. He looked at her injury without expression, even with a hint of mockery. “You're already this old, and you're still pulling this plagiarism stunt.”
There may be multiple romances. Everything revolves around the heroine's athletic career. Anything that doesn't match reality is fictionalized :)
Theme: There's nothing a jummper can't do!
The author describes figure skating in detail. How to press your legs? How to take off? How to rotate? How does the blade land? What sound does it make? Very wonderful and very professional!
The description of the night is very fascinating. The church spire points directly to the moon, and the wind from the Baltic Sea is intoxicating.
The author has a good geographical knowledge, and is familiar with Brussels, Latvia and the Mediterranean.
The writing here is wonderful, and it made me nervous and my muscles tensed up after reading it.
The ice rink environment is like seeing Hangzhou Station 😂
Why did the Latvian station go to Slovakia?
I still like mother and daughter together. Although my mother is sometimes fierce, I still love Xiaosui's ww.
Such a real barrage atmosphere hh I feel like I'm really watching a club league
Is the enlightenment coach Pei or Ge?
"Time, she jumped up and picked up..." This is a big bug for the author~ What does it mean to be followed by loop? Repeated jumps are not allowed in the short program
