Fushihara Sakuya is an unknown fanfiction writer who loves writing online novels that push every boundary. Touken Ranbu, a mobile game that's hugely popular in Japan and a source of endless delight for fan creators, is his latest target.
Just as he finishes his first Touken Ranbu fanfic and receives plenty of praise and criticism, a crowd-crush incident gives him a second chance at life. In no time, he goes from a rich young master to an orphan on the streets.
On his unknown-thousandth day as a vagrant, he runs into the protagonist of this series, Nakajima Atsushi.
Fushihara Sakuya: O.o What are the odds an NPC survives in a battle-of-wits series?
Thankfully, although he's so socially awkward and young that he can only take under-the-table jobs (picking up his old writing gig), he's not completely helpless. He can protect himself, and he has a whole group of sword spirits whose black bars on the sword registry are almost full.
Fushihara Sakuya: I want to die, but I can't be the one who dies.
The Special Division for Unusual Powers sends him an invitation.
The Port Mafia sends him a marriage proposal.
The Armed Detective Agency sends him a proposal for an arranged marriage.
His attendant: Reject all with one click, then drop by for tea.
Ability: Touken Ranbu
Ability Limitations: At first, he can summon only six sword warriors, a full unit. All summoned sword warriors are adults, so he cannot summon the little tantos, but he can summon the larger wakizashi and swords that have been sharpened into a new blade. They are adults as well.
Spirit Replenishment: Apart from the "random" attendant of the day, the sword warriors can only remain summoned for a limited time. The master must replenish their spiritual energy through intimate contact. This can include bodily fluids, physical contact, and other methods (based on certain magic-based energy-replenishment systems).
Note: A crossover with Bungo Stray Dogs, Touken Ranbu, and Vampire Knight, with a little Natsume's Book of Friends.
Warning: Absolutely one-sided crushes, no love interests, no CP.
Edited 2026.02.14.
Theme: Live positively and cherish every day.
